Re: Sofia Woodwinds

Thanks Alex, I'm glad you like the sound of them. I think the clarinets are particularly good. The brass is complete, has been for about a year (actually there is a bug I need to fix, but it's 99.9% ready). I'm reluctant to release it though because of the poor sales of Sofia Woodwinds and I'm not t...

Re: Sofia Woodwinds

Hi Alex, Well I'm biased but I think it's a good library :) Actually I was going to take it off sale and rework it because it hasn't been a big seller for me and in the years since I released it I've made some huge improvements in my legato systems and other areas. If you don't mind a proprietary sa...

Re: Php ,JavaScript

Probably too late to save you but don't use jquery in 2023, vanilla JS is faster and just as capable.

Re: Looking for a declicker

This exists on GitHub, though I haven't tried it yet: https://github.com/0x07dc/declicker Either you try to compile it for Linux or you run the windows binaries with yabridge. Thanks, that worked perfectly. Very easy to compile. He doesn't specify which version of JUCE but since the last update was...

AFAIR gramofile wich is a tool to digitalize vinyl records has a declicker feature.

I don't see that feature mentioned on the website. Does it have a CLI?

I wonder if the guy who writes ocenaudio could be convinced to sell the rights to the code. It's really the best wave editing software on linux.

I asked about open sourcing it on their Facebook page years ago, never got a response

Re: Do I need to bother with Jack on Debian 12?

I don't use JACK. Pipewire and pipewire-jack do just fine. Except in Ardour where I use ALSA otherwise the rendering is sometimes glitchy.

It's free but it's not open source,

I'm happy to pay for an open source tool, I'm not happy to use a proprietary tool no matter the price.

A lot of tools won't retain the looping information, or won't adjust the loop points if the length of the waveform changes.

That's fine, I need it for fixing clicks in individual samples before any looping has been done.

You may want to try ocenaudio.

Thanks for the suggestion but I want either an open source commandline tool or plugin. I'm aware of a multitude of proprietary GUI apps that can do the job.

Looking for a declicker

Can anyone recommend an open source declicker plugin (preferably LV2 or VST3) or commandline tool? I'm aware of the tool in Audacity.

Thanks.

I don't know about anyone else here, but I want to make a living making music.

I've got a plan I've been working on for about 10 years - Minecraft music videos.

So are you making a living making music?

Re: pipewire BS

I've usually got a minimum of 25 to 30 tracks going and then of course busses as I'm using Mixbus32c. I set Ardour to use JACK (if I use ALSA then it will be in exclusive mode) Sometimes I even forget to start Qjackctl meaning I don't use qjackctl, and I don't have JACK installed, it's not needed i...

No problems here in Debian land. A fresh install just works.
