Re: AV Linux 6.0.2 Released!
Just a strange question. I can't boot this from my USB 3.0 ports, but it works from USB 2. Is that unexpected for anyone else?

Re: Multiband compressor suitable for mastering
Just having a quick look at their site, it's a bit confusing. The text suggests they are LV2 plugins, but there's a footnote saying that " LV2 plugin packages for other hosts ( Ardour2, Ardour3, Audacity, etc ) will be linked here soon " which sort of suggests that they're perhaps not com...

Re: Jack ignores MobilePre, just keeps using onboard sound
First thing, boot your computer and get into your UEFI or BIOS settings. Disable onboard sounds. Second what way are you interfacing with Jack? If you are using QJackctl or Cadence, go to the settings/configure page, and select USB Audio or MobilePre from the dropdown menu. Then stop and restart the...

Re: Multiband compressor suitable for mastering
you can always build your own multiband compressor with plugins. But is there the right sort of crossovers/filters available to do it right (like the ones mentioned above used in the latest version of the Calf plugin)? I wouldn't trust myself not to mess it up  In my experience, there are no t...

For me is relatively good 44.1Khz, 128, 3 fps, with Kxstudio lucid 10.04, kernel 2.6.32.40/41 preempt (i use driver video noveau, not NVidia)... Alessandro, I have a question and some info for you. 1 - Do you get bertter performance by using Nouveau and not Nvidia? 2 - Firewire cards are not all th...

Re: Crossover plugin?
Varpa, This seems to be pretty much exactly what I need, but I can't see it when I start it. I just need some guidance on how to connect it to my jack client. Any ideas? It would be excellent if a dev would create a simple interface, or perhaps make it an LV2? I wonder if any other nondevs like me c...

Crossover plugin?
I have installed KXStudio at a professional studio and the head engineer desires a crossover plugin for mixing. I currently am sending the master stereo out to two busses. One for high/mid with a highpass filter, and one for low frequencies with a lowpass set to the same frequencies. Is this as good...

Re: Something like izotope ozone
I'm afraid there isn't such a thing. The closest tool to Ozone is JAMin, but it is still standalone. I hope someone makes it into an LV2, or at least the components of it.

Critiques please (Video)
Hello all, I had an assignment to create a video lesson on MIDI in Ardour 3.5 for a shirt online class I'm taking. Tell me how bad it is. I had to get it out quick for the class deadline, but I am wondering if I should take my time and really make some lessons for new Ardour users in video form. htt...

Re: Bouncing from LMMS for mixing.
Yes, the Calf sidechain gate. Oddly enough it doesn't do what I though (to open the sound after the SC input threshold is reached). Its response is practically instant, and having the knee shaping in there is a great help. One thing I'd also point out is that if your sound isn't ducking fast enough,...

Re: Who here can master music for money?
I now want to have "Another" worked on. Out of what I have it is the best sounding, mix wise. I'll upload a .wav to my Gdrive and link it soon!

Re: Bouncing from LMMS for mixing.
From what I have seen, LMMS does not process muted tracks. That can save you some CPU overhead when you are still composing. However, I recommend just using the "export Tracks" option in the export dialogue. I export 24bit wavs at 88.2khz. Make sure that your Ardour session is set up the s...

Re: PitchTech plugins
The plugin creator says that the source isn't availabe YET, so I have hope to see these plugins get a proper OSS release. There are some cool effects, but nothing that trumps my disdain for java.
