Re: Tips/tricks for doom/stoner/sludge music production?
I don't work on Stoner music but I do have some Death Metal kind of stuff planned right now. In any case I would always begin with improving the actual performances of the musician(s), raise them to whatever level of quality you're looking for. Then you can care about mixing. If you think your playi...

Re: Music hosting sites: Let's talk about these, shall we?
We live in a weird time, isn't it? If there are no licensing issues between the sites, why not release your music on all these sites at the same time? It's not that much work to do. Personally I often use YouTube as a plain music player. For my own upcoming music releases I was thinking about hostin...

Re: Playlist of my new Guitarix presets
By the way so far I'm doing all of these presets on my Epiphone Explorer which is of course equipped with humbuckers. So if there's any Fender dudes around here, or people using some form of single coils, I would be very interested how the presets sound on those guitars? Especially that new "Hi...

Playlist of my new Guitarix presets
I made a Youtube playlist of most of my guitarix presets I did:
https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... OohHB601Zg
I was thinking that it might help to use little demo songs and images for each preset, to get more users to try out Guitarix.

Re: Advice on All Fifths Tuning for guitar manual
I would recommend write a couple easy to learn riffs and songs in this tuning and also release TAB and sheets for the songs. At the moment your idea sounds great but there is no real incentive to apply this tuning, unless as I said there's some guitar music using it? Devin Townsend for example uses ...

Re: Sunstorm - original Rock/Metal song made with Guitarix
Thanks man, I'm really glad you like it even though you're not into metal that much! To be honest my ears are not well trained for mixing yet. It's great to have all these tools around on Linux to learn mixing but my time won't allow it. I mean I have very good ears when it comes to transcribing son...

Re: Re-Amping
There are a couple online reamping services already (using a Kemper or other means) which I'm about to try (google "online reamping") One other special thing I was thinking about: Use some Y-pedal to feed your signal into two different computers running guitarix. Record your performance on...

Re: OpenShot updates
I'm doing quite a bit of video editing at the moment and I have collected a list of bugs and features in OpenShot. Need to submit all these tickets yet and I hope it will be improved in the future. I just can't get off my ass and look into Blender. I know Blender from my game programming days but fo...

Sunstorm - original Rock/Metal song made with Guitarix
Sunstorm: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHXLftmjBow This is I think my most professional home recording so far. It should be seen as a teaser for my upcoming stuff. The song was recorded on Ubuntu with plain old Audacity and was professionally mixed by Norbert Leitner in Vienna. For the bass guita...

OpenShot updates
I don't read news and blogs very often, but I just found out that OpenShot is getting some updates, you might want to know about it: http://www.openshotvideo.com/2015/09/openshot-20-september-update.html Last time I checked, all development was paused as far as I remember. I'm using OpenShot right n...
