Re: GeekosDaw broke my sound ?
Hang on a second... Aren't you the guy that decided you would use a longer cable for your audio interface even though I advised you to use the supplied cable because there's a reason it's the length it is? Please tell me you've tried using the supplied cable..? So you've selected the 3000MHz profile...

Re: GeekosDaw broke my sound ?
My mobo does not recognize my memory, as 3000. I have tried to set it to 3000 which kinda work but it also makes my pc less stable. So now its at the speed the mobo thinks is right, which is below 3000. That why the opensuse person suggested putting more volt on it. (some budget gaming memory seems...

Re: GeekosDaw broke my sound ?
I'd have thought 2x8GB at 3000MHz should be no problem for your board and cpu. I'd still have a look at the QVL though just to see what G.Skill module configs are listed. Did you check the memory profile in the BIOS? You need to set this if you haven't already. The BIOS will also tell you what speed...

Re: GeekosDaw broke my sound ?
It does sound like you might have some hardware issues. If USB ports are behaving badly then yes that'll likely be a motherboard issue but may also be down to your power supply or even just bad wiring (unlikely unless you know you've damaged some wiring), possibly interferance also. First of all - u...

Re: GeekosDaw broke my sound ?
Ok well one thing you could try is deleting any relevant folders in the home folder (things to do with pipewire, for example) then rebooting. I've used this method to solve issues in the past when configurations have gotten messed up. Just back up the files you delete, of course.

Re: GeekosDaw broke my sound ?
Just incase this is of any use... I usually find that when something has broken after an update and rolling back to a system backup doesn't solve it then there's something in my home folder that's changed. I have separate backups for my home folder so I usually have to try reverting to one of them i...

I'm not using Timeshift to backup the home folder, only system files. I use a separate program for the home folder..

Re: [SOLVED] Drive space disappearing with BTRFS...
Largos I see. Thanks for the advice. I'll check that video out! I was using Btrfs assistant but I think I'll try Timeshift for snapshots next time. At the moment I'm just using Timeshift Rsync backups of system files like I used to and so I think I'll stick with that for a bit and then play with Bt...

Re: [SOLVED] Drive space disappearing with BTRFS...
Depends on how bad things would be if you lost data I suppose, but probably one or the other would suffice. I've never used BTRFS so I don't know how it's backup snapshots work. I like Timeshift, but I've never had to restore a complete system either. Regardless, make sure the location that you sta...

Re: Drive space disappearing with BTRFS...
Well, I have a funny story... So it turns out that deleting those 'root_backup' folders freed up the space I was missing. My free space went from 75GB to about 430GB. After doing that, I decided to run a backup and then delete the other folder in the same directory called 'root' which did not have '...

Re: Drive space disappearing with BTRFS...
Ok I think I've found something.. I was going to try making some snapshots with Btrfs Assistant again just to see what happened and so when going to make a new configuration I noticed one of the default backup directories you could select from was '/run.BtrfsAssistant'. This directory was not ever s...

Re: Unpublishing your music
I agree, but it's not necessarily due to obsession if you come to the conclusion that some track doesn't fit in well with the rest. It may just be a track which you tend to start skipping while listening recreatively, which makes you realize that its removal increases the pleasure of listening to t...

Re: Drive space disappearing with BTRFS...
I left a search of the entire Nobara/Fedora partition running overnight for anything named 'snapshot'. I've checked through the results and there's nothing of significance that I can see, nothing taking up much space at all. Unless there's some secret, invisible snapshots somewhere.. I also rebooted...
