Re: Fathom $11 Friday sale (try the free mono version first)
Again, it's a synth that has a lot going on for it. I have now included it in my arsenal, despite the mentioned shortcomings. They are not show-stoppers. Considering the quality of the sounds, I can live with that and bounce to audio when needed. The user interface is very well made. I haven't start...

Re: Automation?
It is. Should we create more realistic feature req, with my minimalistic specification? Hopefully not ! :) So you think it is better to wait forever for something which would be perfect than get sooner something which would provide something better than now? I use Bitwig for creation. Hence no wait...

Re: Fathom $11 Friday sale, 6-29-18/6-30-18
Some good sounds in there. Lots of effort put in there and it shows in the sounds. Not the fastest to load sounds but that's OK, Lots of tutorial videos that covers a lot of aspects. Nice user interface that works like a modular synth. Can't go wrong for $11. tavasti: it works with wine-staging and ...

Re: Guten Tagen
I'd love to go to Berlin for the people, music, linux, food, computer science and maybe meet some distant family members. For what it's worth, possibly my biggest musical influences are KMFDM (keiner macht fur dich meir) and Front 242. Here's a pretty good one from Germany. Die Ärtze - "Die kl...

Re: Automation?
Checking ardour bug tracker, there is feature request for modulation support. Some feature requests have donation set, so if you want you could promise some sum of money for this get done? http://tracker.ardour.org/view.php?id=7455 The Ardour bug is like, "bring those nice Bitwig features to A...

Re: Automation?
Indeed, looks convincing. Sure everything is doable with plain automation, but amount of work would be huge, for example those ADSR envelopes for every note :-o I would not expect that much from Ardour/Mixbus although to have basic wave (sine, triangle, square, maybe random) creation and resizing c...

Re: Automation?
Yes, for basic users. Advanced users will write perl/python/something script to do it. :P Ah ah. :) In reality, how often you have needed LFO for automation? If cases are rare, then even this approach works. I used to think who needs modulation ? Then it started to change slowly as I realized that ...

Re: Rainy etude on Salamander Grand Piano
It's a nice improv. The piano sound and recording is great. The pictures go with the music although they push even more towards the grey side. Maybe the music by itself is not that much. Or maybe it is more. Karelia must also be very nice on sunny days. Very much like forests in mid/northern Canada....

Re: Moonchild23
There are good ideas in there. It's rendered pretty well although I find at bit too up front and well-detached. Just a bit. There's a need to glue things together just a little bit more when it gets going. The smoothest parts are more glued together. The harmonies might remind a bit of Depeche Mode,...

Voxengo plugins are Russian, Melda are Czech, Synthmaster is Turkish, yep, makes sense.

Re: Automation?
Would it be possible to use some external program / plugin to do LFO? With OSC you can do something, but I suppose everything pretty fast is impossible, but for really slow LFO's that might work. For filtering, is there any lowpass filter plugin with built-in LFO? Yes, it's absolutely possible. For...

Music: Bamboo Music
Here is a nice live cover of a piece by David Sylvian and Ryuichi Sakamoto titled "Bamboo Music" performed a couple of ytears ago by Akiko Yano (vocals, piano) and Yoshinori Sunahara (electronics). The piece blends exquisitely the acoustics of the grand piano and voice with pure electronic...
