Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)

less important (except you have little RAM and work a lot with audio) 3 set your swappiness lower, i.e. to 10 Swappiness [ WARNING ] vm.swappiness is set to 60 which is too high. Set swappiness to a lower value by adding 'vm.swappiness=10' to /etc/sysctl.conf and run 'sysctl --system'. See also http...

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)

Two things you should do. Should get a lot better then. 1 Edit the file limits.conf as described here: https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration#limitsconfaudioconf by adding these two lines: @audio - rtprio 90 # maximum realtime priority @audio - memlock unlimited # maximum locked-in-me...

Building RaySession fails on MXLinux / Debian

Last time I built RaySession on Manjaro without issues. Now I wanted to test it with MXLinux and what I get is: demo@mx1:~/make/raysessions/RaySession $ ll total 104K -rw-r--r-- 1 demo demo 16K Dec 27 17:55 CHANGELOG drwxr-xr-x 4 demo demo 4.0K Dec 27 17:55 client_templates -rw-r--r-- 1 demo demo 15...

Re: Problems using Waveform 12 (free version)

To get some more info. What distro are you using? Are you using Jack or Alsa? Please run the realtimeconfig script as described here and post the output: https://codeberg.org/rtcqs/rtcqs From the terminal do: sudo apt install pip pip install --upgrade rtcqs then cd /home/yourusername/.local/bin ./rt...

Re: AVLinux Tuning - what's missing here?

Seems my PC is still running fine. To boot MXLinux I had to set the intel_iommu=off boot option. This is plain MXLinux running from a stick after editing limits.conf and setting the CPU governor to performance. I also installed QJackctl and set realtime prios. https://imgur.com/TFtAQ1I.png with gove...

Re: AVLinux Tuning - what's missing here?

I disabled threadirqs in AVLinux, but bascially the same:

The overhead peaks correlate with system activity (e.g. using Firefox with LAN, Saving screenshots, etc.).

Interesting. Average loads are close to each other, maximum loads do really differ. Does Ubuntustudio use Jack2?

Why are there different latencies?

Not sure yet about the latencies, I think it comes from different output connections in Bitwig and I think this can be ignored.

Re: AVLinux Tuning - what's missing here?

Just booted into Ubuntustudio Live 22.04, which luckily worked, because my PC is maybe dying (will open another thread). First the result in Bitwig was worse, but after putting the user Ubuntustudio to the audio group I got this https://i.imgur.com/Hfg7vDH.png Here is the output of rtcqs for Ubuntus...

AVLinux / MXLinux Tuning - on two machines (different results)

Hi, still testing AVLinux and it's working great so far. I'm using it on a persistent USB stick at the moment and I just did some tests with Bitwig to compare it to my Ubuntustudio system. In Ubuntustudio loading 10 instances of DIVA with the second preset looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/KHJJHu...

Re: Focusrite Scarlett Solo stopped working on Ubuntu 20.04

@nyoshiuchi I didn't realize I needed to hold down the button while plugging it in. I have successfully resolved my issue. Glad it is working for you! I don't know how it could happen, but it seems that your Solo got put back to the factory-default "Easy Start mode," in which it functions...

Re: AV Linux 21.2.1 and MXDE-EFL 21.2.2 Released!

Are the any pros to not have a trash bin? I have it activated in Ubuntu, but I rarely need it. Once I had some issues with Thunar when using external ssds.

Re: AV Linux 21.2.1 and MXDE-EFL 21.2.2 Released!

Awesome Distro and so much to discover with wine 😁
Started Ardour and it's very fast and in general Avlinux seems to be not too heavy on RAM (I only have 8GB and was constantly hitting the limit with Bitwig.)
I will install it 😎

Re: Pipewire system room correction plugin

I just saw that QjackQTL has also a session manager meanwhile. :) If it works for your case, good! NSM can do much more though: centralized saving, starting/stopping clients, showing/hiding GUIs, etc, etc. :D I didn't test it, so maybe it will not work for me. I thought that NSM is not developed an...
