Re: SSL Big6 routing works in Ubuntu Studio but not AV Linux

Yes, ideally. Where I am convinced by bugfixes, stability and possibly more functions - depending on the update process! - often convince. Some hardware instruments grow (firmware update) nowadays also at the user's home. Also there: Whereby bugfixes, stability and possibly more functions - !dependi...

Re: SSL Big6 routing works in Ubuntu Studio but not AV Linux

With a Debian Bullseye/Bookworm the BigSix works 100%. I have installed the latest firmware (SSL Audio Firmware Updater for SSL 2/2+ and BiG SiX: https://www.solidstatelogic.com/product ... ddownloads). Do you have that too?

Please stick to the topic of the initial thread and do not destroy it. If it is important to you, create a new thread and link where the idea came from. No meta-discussions if the initial thread did not explicitly ask for it. Be respectful to each other. Please no religious wars because everyone ha...

Re: AI aided software development

as a note of warning here, using these tools to generate code produces results that unsuitable for any open-source project due to its unclear licensing. the code these tools scrapped is under all sorts of licenses, some incompatible with each other, even with just that the results would be a mess t...

It's getting harder and harder for me to recognize them thanks to AI or something. We do this on the side in our "spare time". I mean it is already very uncomfortable to sign up here - sry - not because we want to make your life difficult but because we do not want bots. We are even more t...

Re: Less sub-foruming, please

Plenty of sub forums does not bother me, but feature to 'block' certain sub forums would be nice. For example, I am not interested to see discussion about Muse seq (I don't use it), and people who are purists might want to ignore threads in 'Runnin non-linux software'. The capability to exclude sel...

Re: Xruns while sequencing from external gear

Hy mvdev0 I play mainly electric bass at the moment. I wait and hope that this problem is perceived at some point and possibly fixed. Can just take a while. But it looks as good as never before. I'm not testing anything at the moment because the climate - I live under the roof - is too extreme. OT: ...

Re: What is a best workflow and setup for analog mixer with hardware synthesizers?

A bit pricey but the best audio I've ever heard - I'm a bit audiophile impaired - and you have 16 I/O via USB with the SSL Big SiX viewtopic.php?p=150691#p150691.
All instruments/effects are connected via patchbays (SAMSON S-Patch Plus 48).

Re: Xruns while sequencing from external gear

I know the problem. It has to do with the fact that audio runs with its clock under RT, but MIDI does not. https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?p=99769#p99769 According to FalkTX, - FalkTX is currently the jackd developer - jackd can't handle external MIDI clock reliably either. Jackd clock can ...

I ask for a respectful, appreciative tone. See: https://linuxmusicians.com/viewtopic.php?t=270 , https://www.gnu.org/philosophy/kind-communication.html . Thank you. Among many other devices, https://mod.audio/dwarf/ as well as SSL Big SiX have optional USB I/O. If you absolutely want to archive or e...

Hy

I find the keyboard Fatar TP10 ((Built-in keyboards and manufacturers (collection thread)) of the Kurzweil K2500X very playable. Even if the sound of the K2000 is much better - because worse.

So generally an instrument with a TP10 keyboard?

Re: When is enough, enough..?

In the end my biggest gripe is that when it's time to upgrade your distro then you never know if your software will still work. That stuff makes me consider switching back to Windows every time. Because that you'll have to do only once in your life. I hear similar things in another forum from Mac o...
