I haven't tried the CSD yet but any recent version of Csound should include that opcode. Have you reported the error to Rory on the Cabbage forum ?

Deep thanks to all who listened and to all who replied. I'll pass your compliments on to Dave Benham, I'm sure he'll be pleased.

A Machine Dream (Reprise)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=md6ua3P2xKM Fellow VCV Rack enthusiast Dave Benham revived a patch I made a few years ago. He's made a few changes to the patch itself, but his most obvious contribution is a lovely improvisation on a Native American flute. I liked what he did, I hope you enjoy it too...

Re: advice for nvidia card sufferer

@davephillips Has something changed with Ubuntu Studio? I thought there were no RT Preempt kernels in 'buntudom any more just the option for 'lowlatency' Preempt (which for most people perform more than well enough).. You are correct, apologies for my confusion. I'm running LL preempt kernels on bo...

Re: Is VCV Rack still developed or "a thing"?

... I read on their forums that a lot of people complain that version 2 is still not ready. Is it still being developed and do y'all still use it? When VCV Rack came out a lot of people were very enthusiastic, but now they complain about the enormous unclear amount of modules of which a lot aren't ...

Re: advice for nvidia card sufferer

FWIW: I use a GT710 card - with the nVidia driver - in my desktop box, with a realtime kernel from Ubuntu Studio. Works well here.

Gardner Read's Music Notation is still an excellent standard guide:

(Ignore the ridiculous asking price for the hardcover. Cheap used paperbacks are available.)

Re: Looking for a teacher/trainer

... You will probably not find a teacher specialising in teaching Linux audio... I do teach music production (in studio and online via Skype) using Linux audio tools, but I have no students currently using Linux. One fellow is running Reaper on Windows, that's an easy match with the native Linux Re...

Re: Rakarrack: Anything else like it?

VCV Rack has great potential as a guitar fx processor. Many of the Surge effects are available there, ditto for the Airwindows and Chowdhury stuff. Plus there are a lot of very interesting modules that aren't guitar-specific but can create some very unusual effects (I'm thinking particularly about t...

Re: Soledad for Guitar and VCV Rack

Greetings ! Thank you to everyone who listened to my track, especially to those of you who left comments (always vastly appreciated). There was some editing involved but not much. The improv originally went on for much longer. I cut it down to a more manageable length, hopefully you can't hear the j...

Re: The corruption of Audacity

I do use Audacity frequently in my teaching, rarely (if ever) as a soundfile editor. Its Change Tempo and Change Pitch functions are excellent for instructional purposes, very flexible and easy to apply. I would be a bit pressed to find an acceptable substitute, but from what I've read so far I'm no...

Re: The corruption of Audacity

Regarding AudioMass: ... I agree on all your points, it's very limited indeed. I posted it here because from my POV has some good points: ... Has very basic functions and a simple GUI, not going to replace anything like Audacity or Ocenaudio or Ardour, but sometimes you just need to do a simple norm...
