Re: Why Linux? And why Linux for pro-audio?
I'm not sure that the muddiness has to be regarded in a bad way necessarily.

Re: Fathom $12 Friday sale 07/06/18
What's really nice with that synth is that it seems that fiddling around turning some knobs here and there always, or most always, brings nicly interesting results, beyond the simple cutoff/resonance tweaks.

Re: "Calm_Down" by Protozone [electro-industrial-dnb]
Again, quite a nice track ! Very good composition and arrangement of sounds. More bass will mean more anchored. More anchored means that other sounds will 'fly' less. And there are quite a few other sounds taking off. The stretch between a deeper bass and the higher sounds might be too much. However...

Fathom $12 Friday sale 07/06/18
Maybe it's each Friday, don't know. If it is then it'd be useless to post here every week. But for this time around I thought I'll just point out that this Friday the price went up from $11 to $12.
Great synth, great possibilities.

Great ! Do you have any idea by now of what could have been wrong ?
By the way, Fathom is $12 today.

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers
I think about buying those. Is there anything comparable when not using Windows VSTs? Exactly. In many cases there's nothing. I mean, you can get other EQs and it makes sense to have several for each have characteristics, same with the two compressors. For others like the bass, vocal and drum chara...

Re: Overtone AF210/M Graphical EQ & FFT Plug-in 50% Off
OK, thanks, I'll see what Bitwig does.
Other than that about file management, I'd say, ask the user for a path where to save them presets, done. No ?
Cheers.

Re: Overtone AF210/M Graphical EQ & FFT Plug-in 50% Off
Hi, I do have a question. There are 4 user slots. How are presets saved into them to be recalled in other sessions ?
Cheers.

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers
Soon they'll be giving it away for near free. After all, it's a bit difficult to ask a lot of money for those plugins. They are quite limited compared to what's on the market. Linux users being usually a captive market with limited choices, these plugins have more impact. But now it's starting ot be...

Here's the complete wine-staging install. The first part is from their web site. This is followed by one winetricks usage. https://wine-staging.com/ Avril 2018 https://wine-staging.com/installation.html#distro_mint wget -nc https://repos.wine-staging.com/wine/Release.key sudo apt-key add Release.key...

Re: Fathom $11 Friday sale, 6-29-18/6-30-18
Got linvst built, tried both wine-stable and wine-staging, same results: with embedded-6432, only 64 bit VSTs are found with mixbus, and loading Fathom64 -> lin-vst-server will crash on seg fault. Linvst readme is pretty awful :-o Well, I think I will start with a parody. Strange ... Doesn't happen...

It would perhaps even be better in the upcoming new forum section dedicated to running 'foreign' plugins.tavasti wrote: Your notes might be usefull, maybe worth new topic?
To admins: How is this section coming ? Will we see it soon ?
If not, I'll create a thread in the plugins section.
Cheers.

Re: Fathom $11 Friday sale (try the free mono version first)
Mine is 2.12.0 Pro MD 64. The slowness in the UI I've seen is actually only with the EQ sliders, as shown upper right below. Everything else is OK. The graphic curves have no problems, nor the knobs. Another thing: it does not export VST parameters. Again, no show-stopper. Cheers. FathomParams.jpg

Re: Fathom $11 Friday sale, 6-29-18/6-30-18
Looks like ubuntu / kxstudio does not have linvst. May very well be. And at the same time, do not take any wine package from the distro. Take wine-staging from the wine-staging web site. Compiling linvst is the best option IMHO. It uses the Steinberg SDK that you have to get. Let me know if you nee...
