The tutorial and video you've already suggested (WINE and Claudia sessions) are the ones I would like to see

Re: KXStudio FAQ
Sounds a lot like this one. Worth a try, it's a one-liner to fix:briandc wrote:FalkTX,

Re: Loading Windows VSTs within Carla
I'm getting the same error message whenever I try to load any plugin (LADSPA, native VSTs etc) in Carla: "Failed to load plugin. Bridge not possible, bridge-binary not found." I've tried various permutations of uninstalling/reinstalling carla and the vst bridge. Any thoughts on how I can g...

Re: KXStudio documentation (preparations)
Of course, you provide an excellent use of parentheses in your post (containing something that grammatically fits the sentence) although the exclamation mark is dubious. :P I do think it is worth separating, as the contents do appear to start a new sentence in this case; they would not be allowable ...

Re: KXStudio documentation (preparations)
You should always be able to take away everything inside the brackets () and have something that works. In your version, the full stop (.) is outside the brackets and so finishes the whole statement, brackets included. Consider: Some of these also have sub-tools, such as Claudia-Launcher and Carla-C...

Re: KXStudio documentation (preparations)
A few grammatical nit-picks: Some of these also have sub-tools, such as Claudia-Launcher and Carla-Control . (Cadence also has its own minor tools, like Cadence-JackMixer .) Each of these tools is properly documented in its respective page. (The panels on the left display system information and chec...

Re: GRUB / Splash screen
No change
After a bit of reflection, I think I'm stuck with this one. The purple screens I'm getting look like they're rendered in ASCII - I think this is to do with when the graphics card (GTX 550 Ti) driver is loaded.

GRUB / Splash screen
Hi, I appreciate this is a rather trivial problem, but I'm sure the fix is equally straightforward :-) The last few times I have booted my machine, I have been confronted with the GRUB menu offering kernels, safe mode etc. The nice KXStudio splash screen has also been replaced by the Ubuntu purple l...

Re: reaper cant start
This is brilliant. I'll be very happy to test it
I now have REAPER running at crazy low latency, working with my MIDI hardware and controlling a CALF monosynth.
Thanks for all your great work!

Re: reaper cant start
I'd like to be able to sequence stuff like puredata and dssi synths from REAPER. Is this not something that can be done simply by wiring in Claudia? In which case I would be very interested in a workaround! I think I can see my hardware ports ok, I'll test that after reinstalling again. How do I mak...

Re: reaper cant start
I'm tearing my hair out trying to get REAPER working properly :-( I've tried all kinds of suggestions and uninstalled and reinstalled WINE a few times. It installs without any issues, except that ALSA does not appear as an option in winecfg or in REAPER, and I don't have any way to route MIDI in and...

Re: Early Lessons from a Linux Audio Newbie
Nice post, it's always helpful to see other people's problems and solutions
I also find it helpful to think of applications as hardware boxes. Good luck with your christmas list, a real MIDI keyboard does wonders for productivity!

Re: Playback-only sequencer for live performance
Looks promising, I'll have a play. It looks like it doesn't run tempo changes though, and would have to be slaved to something else
Maybe I can run it with Klick?

Re: Playback-only sequencer for live performance
I've looked at the source code for pmidi, and it looks like adding clock is going to be WAAAY beyond my current abilities. Can anybody recommend a "heavier" midi sequencer which can still be controlled entirely by calling it with the right input arguments? I'm at my wits' end here, I can't...
