Re: The Elder Brothers - "Nature's Way"
Nice to see and hear your lovely Telecaster again. That is a very understated but effective guitar solo. And the group together has a nice balanced sound. Thanks for posting this.

Re: Dub Techno .
Sorry to be late to this thread. Two thumbs up on this track and video! I really enjoyed listening and watching, and it make me envious of all of the knobs you have to play with in your studio. It's really satisfying to watch you turn a knob and hear the resulting sound, for instance with those knob...

I went back and listened again. It starts at 0:29. Such an awesome sound! Well done!

Re: Elements of Synth - Wind [electronic collaboration]
I really like this track! My favorite thing in the whole piece is that lovely binaural transition sound that is first heard at about 0:35. I'm guessing that was jeanette_c 's fingerprint. The super long intro and outro are also very cool. Nice work on the synths, oscillator ! Also, you found a great...

Re: With Ardour and VOCALOID
Wow, I didn't see that one coming! What a cool song! I am not at all familiar with Japanese synthpop, but my ears agree with Rainmak3r that this is quite a busy song. There are cool changes, and I love the interesting time signature work, but it all feels like it's on the same level of intensity wit...

Re: "See the Moon Smiling" w/Rated Blue
Beautiful song! Props to Conner for coming up with that sweet riff. One of those songs that makes me envious that I didn't write it first. And the production is first rate: recording, mixing, mastering, cinematography. And my goodness, you've been busy! The Bandshed is bursting with projects! I look...

Re: Turmoil
This is a well-written track. I love the variety and transitions. It is also harmonically complex, and sounds like it was written by a guitarist. The only part that didn't really work for me was the first uptempo section, which sounded a lot more like video game music than metal. The lead synth also...

Re: Into the Music
This is pretty good! As always, your guitar and bass work is really solid, and for me it was the most enjoyable part. The voice sounds a bit unsupported to me. Is that footage from the actual recording session with her sitting in front of the computer singing into the mic? If so then I would suggest...

Re: KVR December Music Cafe competition.
Sorry I wasn't around to comment when this was first posted, but I'm catching up. This is a nice gentle piece, with a solid melody and chord progression. I like the patch changes to keep things interesting.
I agree that it sounds Christmasy -- like the soundtrack to a 1990's Christmas special on TV.

Re: Naked God - At War with Yourself [EBM/industrial]
That vintage war footage is fantastic, especially the aerial combat stuff at the end. The music is a bit heavy for my taste, but I can hear a lot of good qork on your part. The string overlay gives the piece a terribly sad feeling above all of the anger and aggression. Very fitting for the subject. ...

Re: Let there be MIDI!
Congratulations on your acquisition! This is a nice maiden voyage with your new hardware. Towards the end I wanted some variation in the heartbeat drum pattern, but I know this was just a quick jam that needed a metronome drumbeat. I look forward to hearing your new adventures with these tools!

Re: Jazz Jam Session 28 Dec 2021 - St James Infirmary
Yes, the good times just ooze out of this one. There are a lot of instruments competing for those low-mids. Not sure what to do about that in a project like this, as I never record a live group performance. Maybe that's part of why live recordings always sound different than studio recordings?

Re: Autumn leaves
Late again, but catching up. This piece deserves a standing ovation and demands for an encore! You are making some really nice music, and I expect that your recording will only get better as you get more experience and comfort with the tools. Everything else I was going to say was covered in the pre...

Re: New album: Voices of black holes
This is very different from your previous work. I like it a lot. I like the gentle plucking sounds in the second track, layered through delay and thick reverb. Such a nice texture! Just enough melody to be musical, and enough repetition to be hypnotic. The third track has nice marimba-like sounds. E...

Re: Tenaba - Buried in the Ice (feat. Eleanor Forte)
This is a well-crafted song, and Eleanor is sounding a good as ever. I love that little drum fill with a moving high-pass filter at 1:59! That was brilliant, and it makes me want to use that trick sometime. Very solid tone and playing on the guitar solo, and I love the feedback at the transition bac...
