Re: will we lose our apps to Mac and Windows eventually??
These apps were created for linux on linux. Who says so? This contradicts with what you're about to say next: the code is open so Mac and Windows devs has access to them, so why isn't there a branch for windows or mac? The code is open, freely available, and also portable to other platforms/OS's. S...

Re: Unaware of a Direction (was Live sequencing with Hydrogen)
I also managed to fully script the JACK connections and the way all apps are started. Practically all apps (except Guitarix) allow to specify presets/patches/projects/sessions on the commandline. The script came out a bit like described here: http://digitaldub.wordpress.com/2009/12/16/linux-audio-se...

Re: Unaware of a Direction (was Live sequencing with Hydrogen)
Wow, that's a really cool song!!! I like the vocals a lot.. Maybe the could be a little bit louder? Don't know.. What i don't like so much is the beginning and the end(Where the drumset is playing more or less alone). That sounds so, eeeh, simple? :) But the rest of the song is a very nice song, no...

Re: An article on my modular experience
Another thing that would be good to do is to be able to have only Master Out from Qtractor instead of all those individual wires. Qtractor does allow to specify the inputs and outputs of the bus, but when I chose Master Out for all those Hydrogen inputs, there was no sound. Ideally we would mix eve...

Re: will we lose our apps to Mac and Windows eventually??
Qtractor all the way here. And it doesn't feel like the Stone Age. How many musicians are using Mac/Windows? And how many musicians use GNU/Linux? I think you'll be flabbergasted when you see the huge difference (just check the number of active people here on the forum and on LAU for example!). My g...

Hi Nathan, that would be cool too. I'll contact raboof whenever I have something ready (he's the Planet feed guy right?).

Hello cga, thanks! I like working on this song so hopefully I manage to finally create something that's more or less finished
And a full album, phew, that will take a while...

Re: What about an editorial?
I've set up a blog and hopefully I can draw up an editorial before the end of the month: http://146.50.71.8/linuxmusicians/index.php
Would it be possible to have blog.linuxmusicians.com point to this blog by the time I might have an editorial ready? Thanks!
Best,
Jeremy

Yeah, I've read it. To be honest, the article is pretty inconsistent and displays lack of certain basic GNU/Linux knowledge if you ask me.

Apparently the bt_audio_service_open warning is related to the bluez-alsa package.

bpk, one of the ALSA devs came up with this document: http://www.intel.com/Assets/PDF/specupdate/322170.pdf So it's not the Rate Matching Hub, it's the chipset itself that is buggy: Intel® 5 Series Chipset and Intel® 3400 Series Chipset Full-Speed USB 6.
