Re: Getting Akai MPK Mini MKIII software to work

It's unlikely you'll get it to work even if you got past the download part. Apps running under wine typically can't access the usb devices directly. You'd be better looking for some of the sysex editors available and see if they can work with the MKIII e.g. https://github.com/gljubojevic/akai-mpk-mi...

Re: Jack Audio Issues when using USB Switch?

I think I understand something now. Jack should only be used if you need to do more specific audo tasks. Otherwise let Pulse run and do normal everyday work. Is this correct statement. That way you can move around and fuction easier in the desktop. Well, that's one way to approach it. It depends on...

Re: Jack Audio Issues when using USB Switch?

The first issue is probably connectors being renamed. If you're using Qjackctl then you can create rules with wildcard characters in the patchbay window to match up the relevant bits to the appropriate bobs. For the second. Jack hates hot swapping audio devices, loathes it. Midi devices are fine, bu...

Re: Pipewire called for testers. Anybody tried it out?

Pipewire is not a layer above Jack, it's a layer above ALSA drivers and a drop-in-replacement for JACK.

So, I prefer the U-HE synths, as this guy doesn't only know what he's doing. He also knows how to avoid annoying potential users!
As a potential user I find U-HE's lack of support for ARM cpu's annoying.

Apparently you can just click on the window and use it without logging in.

Maybe a pc with Cubase or an Atari ST with Cubase is a Daw?
I remember we called them sequencers, DAW came with the Atari Falcon that could record audio to a Hard Disk with Cubase Audio

If you worked with audio clips you used a tracker.

Re: Live midi

http://zynthian.org can be used for this. It has been specifically designed to run on a raspberry pi as an OS but it’s all open source. I got it running on a laptop in Fedora a couple of years ago but it was quite a faf as it expects to be running as root and keep everything in a /zynthian directory.

Re: Keyboard is recognised but doesn't work

Well that’s a little annoying, I assumed when you said it worked with the cp-33 it was working now, it working a year ago is pretty meaningless, any number of things could have changed or broken in that time. What I would do is download a Linux image and boot from usb to check your Linux isn’t someh...
