Re: linVST: UI OK, no text in drop down menus

All right. This works - thanks ! linVSTCoretricks.jpg One thing left, and that's due to Bitwig since Mixbus32C does not do that, is that when the app is minimized, bringing it back will result in a black window, nothing shown. It shows well the first time after launch, but not after being minimized....

OK. How can it help with the problem ? It seems that the installation just by itself, will offer only a tool that can tweak wine in many ways and as such, will not resolve the problem just by being there.

Cheers.

linVST: UI OK, no text in drop down menus

Has anyone seen such a situation where the UI of a plugin is all right, but there's no text in the drop down menus ? Like this browsing of presets from this synth:

Re: Song vs. Instrumental

A love song doesn't have to speak about him or her for instance. An angry song doesn't have to mention a husband or wife for instance. A love song will remain a love song. A song about angriness will remain about angriness. An instrumental does not restrict in such a way. A nice melody without word...

(linVST) Rob Papen's Go2

Rob Papen's Go2 synth works nicely in Bitwig 2.3.2, linVST and wine-staging. Go2 is 64 bit version.

Re: Song vs. Instrumental

Since I do instrumentals I see it like this. The music tells a story. It is beyond words and can be instantly personalized. A song about [insert topic here] limits the scope. This said, I find instrumental music obeys in a large part to the same "rules" as songs. The story unfolds with the...

Harrison new AVA line of VST plugins

Harrison new AVA VST line of plugins ... of which the mastering EQ is the first one. Tried it in Bitwig (Linux Mint 18). Well, there's still some work to be done. It crashed as soon as I clicked on the EQ line to move it. It crashed in such a way that it corrupted the audio. Restarting Bitwig does n...

linVST and channel data

It looks like linVST does not pass channel data. I made a test in which MIDI keyboard pressure is configured on several devices. First there's the synth, ACE, native to Linux, Followed by OvertoneDSP RVB500 (native to linux), then Voxengo's Marvel GEQ (linVST), then RVB500 again. The data goes up to...

Re: Summer Theme

So this will now be the, ahem, 'final' version of the piece. The idea of having a new kick was a very good one. I'm glad I tried it. Might not be as loud as it could but then I did not want to redo the playing of any other instrument to go along with a more pronounced kick. https://soundcloud.com/no...

Re: Summer Theme

I have posted an update but then, after listening to it again, I do not like the mix. As I've new add samples to a drum track, I realized now that doing so can unbalance a whole mix. Especially if the bass was a little touched up to go with the drums. Again it suffered from the Curse of the New Plug...

Re: New linux Zebra2 and Diva releases

It must be said that people are also reporting errors, int he vein of those plugins not running at all.

As such they are not releases. They are test build. I stay away from them, really. When I want to play, I want to play music, and not playing backup-restore. :)

Re: linVST: Synplant

And to even make matters worse , Microtonic, also from Sonic Charge, that I mentioned in the SP-MT thread in the Song section comes with an online Patternarium which is driven by a server that generates drum/percussive patterns based on the likes and dislikes of users. When you hear one that you lik...

Re: linVST: Synplant

Some plugins kinda grow on you, over time. Others never stop growing, and soon you're over-run by cool presets, and start calling in sick to your workplace, a few months later, you're homeless, and trying to dazzle the peeps at the coffee shop for a cup of hot morning Joe. Carefull what you wish fo...
