Re: Solid recording 'hubs', late 2023 and up

Joyful Noise, Matador, Saddle Creek Records, Domino, Warp, Secretly Canadian, Dead Oceans, Jagjaguwar just to name a few labels on top of my head. I could name drop a plethora of bands and artists I think are relevant but it would boil down to repeating the names on the rosters of aforementioned lab...

Re: RME Babyface Pro not recognized anymore on my system

Thanks for the data! Seems like the USB sound driver does not get loaded. Maybe your computer can't provide enough current on the USB ports. Did you try different ports or different cables? No changes in /etc/modprobe.d/ that could cause this?

Re: Libre Music Challenge #22: General Midi

Hi Arkorest, Oh yeah, the ambience is really creepy in a way that sends shivers down my spine. I love it! Reminds me of Starlight Express, which has somewhat similar vibes to my ears. It's an interesting conflict of an otherwise happy musical idea combined with incredibly melancholic sound design, w...

Ardour supports MCP. The Oxygen 25 should be supported by Ardour, see https://manual.ardour.org/using-control ... ding-maps/

Re: New wiki article on installing a Linux audio system

It is really easy to setup ZRAM in Debian 12 to handle swap duties if you don't want a swap partition for whatever reason, which will prevent edge-case performance problems that could perhaps occur if no swap is present at all. Maybe edit that bullet point to something like: "Modern systems wi...

Re: Debian 12 "Bookworm"

As for your font issue, your old terminal font doesn't look like Bitsream Vera to me. But I'm far from being a font expert, all I know is that Bitsream Vera and DejaVu (that I use) don't differ that much and my terminal looks like your new one.

Re: Ardour and the plugin-crash

Does Ardour raise a notification window that plugins are missing? Do those plugins have something in common? Like a shared path? Did you try a rescan of the VST plugins? Which version of Ardour?

Re: Debian 12 "Bookworm"

FF's System-Theme says that it uses the system's theme. But wich one? It's not the theme I set in XFCE4. I'm using System theme - Auto myself. I don't find a way not to apply it to the title bar. I now see I have that Title Bar box ticked, so enabled. And gnome-calculator uses another different the...

Re: Debian 12 "Bookworm"

For mididings try the community maintained fork at https://github.com/mididings
It's also in PyPi so a pip install mididings in a virtual env could do the trick too.

Re: Debian 12 "Bookworm"

The bad When shutting down it waits 1:30 minutes for something And when you press Esc when it's shutting down? No pointers there? - x42-plugins have a missing dependency of fonts-freefont-ttf. If fonts-freefont-ttf is not installed there is no text at all e.g. in balance.lv2 Where did you install t...

boygenius - The Record

Easily the best record of 2023. Put three amazing songwriters together and what do you get? Stuff that's even tenfold better than the sum of their talents.

Re: Carla xruns with Sweetcase vst3 plugin via yabridge

You're welcome! You might want to look at Ardour for recording and allow for your user to set the CPU DMA latency: https://wiki.linuxaudio.org/wiki/system_configuration#quality_of_service_interface Doing it this way you don't have to fiddle with scaling drivers. Setting your CPU scaling governor to ...
