Re: all about the BASSS!
Nice article. It makes sense I guess. I'll have to try it too. I also browsed a little more and read this one http://productionadvice.co.uk/daft-punk-mastering/ It talks about the bass being important in what made the album sound so good. Interestingly it also argued that having a wider dynamic ran...

DR rating graphics for marking your releases (SVG)
Hi! If you haven't heard of the Loudness War (I guess every produces have heard) go to http://www.dynamicrange.de/. There's an opensource implementation allowing us to measure the dynamic range of our recordings: http://dr14tmeter.scienceontheweb.net/ It can give us an "official DR value" ...

Re: First in a series of LMMS and ZynAddSubFX videotutorials
Hey! I'd love to carry on with this, but I need help. I can't get my video and audio in sync! Sometimes when I open ZynAddSubFX's interface from LMMS plugin I get a "zzzzzzap" and then framerate is broken. I have video that is playing like 4 times faster for a while, then freezes, then pla...

Re: First in a series of LMMS and ZynAddSubFX videotutorials
I started watching it, in fact it is still running. It looks so professional and I really like the sound and from the mouse running around the screen it looks you really know what you are doing! Great stuff to have. Maybe you can tell us something about the screen casting and video editing process ...

Re: What tools are you missing
I also strongly miss a program to tap tempo.
The best would be a simple command-line app, where you can run it, and tap apace with it showing calculated BPM value.
I tried to find anything to do that for linux but I heaven't.
That would greatly simplify finding optimal tempo for songs and such...

SOS I need a ROCK SOLID distro!
Hi! I'm an artist and producer in despair. I'm trying to find a stable distro for year(s), but I can't get anything that would stand the test of time. I feel like the newest major distro versions (Ubuntu 11.04, Mint 11) are re-feeding theese old tired bugs that should be present there 5 years ago bu...

Can't compile edcast? I've got a solution for ya :)
Hi! I'm working on setting up Rivendell on Ubuntu 10.04.2. I needed to feed a shoutcast server with radio stream, and edcast , seemed to be the only option. I got the sources of version 56 (?) from SVN , but I couldn't compile it. After a lot of trying different things, I found out I have to modify ...
