Bug report is useless because Ardour does not support self built versions. You just need to download the demo debug version here https://nightly.ardour.org/ and then run it from gdb like it says here https://ardour.org/debugging_ardour. Yes, I was using ccache. That certainly helped with portage compilations but I don't remember if I had it set up for things outside portage. I think I had it set to build in tmpfs as well, which may have been the factor that made a difference.

That's curious indeed, the last one I built was 4. something so wouldn't be that much different. I think I had a couple of things set up to optimise compilation because this was in gentoo but I can't think anything significant right now.

edit: do you have that plugin on a bus? I've found it is one particular instance for me, on a reverb bus with IR on it as well.

The demo is free don't worry about that. They actually have a third world subscription of one dollar per month which is the one I chose (I really am in a third world country) so there is an affordable option if you want /need the that.
