I don't know if you've seen this, but its really interesting - https://github.com/adamtnash/midi-blocks
its a drag and drop canvas type interface for a bunch of midi things to do, including use of the clam network to turn audio to midi. Its really cool!
Cheers

Cadence and Lubuntu
Hi FalkTX, I installed the kxstudio repos with lubuntu, having stripped kde from my machines and installed lubuntu due to its light weight and good operation. When I run cadence, I am often getting two instances running, cadence no longer controls log out and I can't start the tools (logs, catia etc)...

Re: latest dist-upgrade breaks kxstudio
I tried that command and it gave me:
/usr/sbin/dpkg-reconfigure: kdm is broken or not fully installed
?
Should I try reinstalling it?
Thanks

Re: latest dist-upgrade breaks kxstudio
ermm, I'm afraid its not fixed up for me. I ran apt-get install --reinstall kxstudio-desktop and the problem is still occurring. When the boot screen with the moving dots and the kxstudio name appear they stay there for ages. I then press escape and there is a list of things that have been done and ...

Re: latest dist-upgrade breaks kxstudio
wow, I've just started the other machine (I'm on it now) and I used alt f4 to log in from another tty. Then I ran startx and the window manager started fine.
Have you any ideas on how to get it to start automatically?
Thanks

latest dist-upgrade breaks kxstudio
Hi, I've just run apt-get upgrade and apt-get dist-upgrade on a kxstudio machine and the window manager is no longer able to start. During the dist-upgrade a console window prompted me to restart the kde daemon and I chose not to and to restart, which I did and the window manager no longer starts. O...

Re: cadence not starting on the digital channel
I've had it running briefly although it ran with a crackling noise. I've also got some problems with this install, like I cannot log out - I get a blank screen where the login screen should be (with or without additional users present), ctrl-alt-F7 shows the kxstudio boot splash with ctrl-alt-F8 hav...

Re: cadence not starting on the digital channel
Yh, I've checked the duplex mode and tried it both with and without. I know it is an issue with cadence because I've tried it with qjackctl with success. How do I go about debugging cadence? Can I use gdb on the executable or is there a python debugger? I'd really like to sort this issue, cause othe...

cadence not starting on the digital channel
Hi, I've just installed KXstudio on a machine where i had ubuntu studio with pulseaudio stripped out and cadence et al installed. Everything worked fine audiowise in the old install, but in this one, Cadence is refusing to start on the digital channel. Also, when cadence is recently installed - on b...

active or passive pickup for recording?
Hi, I want to record my resonator guitar but have had no luck putting it through a mic, so I'm going to get a fishman pickup specially designed for the resonator guitar. It comes as either active or passive. I've read that active pickups are more likely to generate feedback and have a flatter spectr...

Re: Tascam US-122L and Ubuntu Post by Astur on Thu Aug 18, 2011 8:11 pm Hi! This is the way I make it work in AV Linux 5.0: 1.- Put the asoundrc file in your home directory from Briata's page: $ wget -c http://pub.briata.org/us-122l/.asoundrc ~/.asoundrc 2.- Install alsa-tools, alsa-firmware-loader...
