Re: More posts about buildings, food, and samples

I am really surprised by what you can do with sfz these days, though finding the good ones are hard. I had to trawl through lots of sfz files for drums and bass to find what i needed. But yes alot of drum samples are really short on the cymbals, i guess it was to keep file sizes down, But as interne...

Re: Linux kernel 3.19

You could clone the sources and build it yourself but it's not going to be any where near ready or stable yet. Wasn't there a patch around for mbox1 already or am I just imagining that? ok thanks yes the patch has been out for some time. it worked but on my system i was getting clicks and pops duri...

oh right it was just that in the new linux news there was a post about alsa - 3.19 apparently has support for some previously unsupported interfaces, a few of the scarlet interfaces and also original mbox 1.

Re: kxstudio - scarlett 8i 6 - Focusrite new install

using ardour for monitoring will always itnroduce some delay dependant on your buffer settings. i use my onboard soundcard and at best i get around 10ms latency roughly including hardware latency of the card/. jacks latency reports 5ms but its in reality higher than that. Ive never used the scarlet ...

Re: Audio Technica USB mic in ardour

jack wont use both the onboard soundcard and an external interface at the same time.

If jack has been setup to use the USB interface and starts successfull it must be using that.

are you sure jack has started? if jack is not started ardour will load up asking for audio config and do it through alsa.

Re: Optimizing bass guitar?

Yes, it looks like you have been overdriving the interface input. And I think it doesn't hear exactly like "overdrive" effect because only the ADC is overdriven, not the physical analog amplifier. It doesn't happen on your guitar because guitars generally have lower output power than basses. This h...
