Re: Carla + Calf Anyliser
Still no go "use UI bridges instead of direct handling when possible" was already unchecked, i checked it and the same behaviour. Calf anylyser doesnt show. I use calf anyliser along with a few other programs live to show levels, spectrum and phase corolation. It can be usefull for reference

Re: CPU fan that revs every few seconds...
Definatly a kernel thing, but no idea what. Ive had similiar behaviour on my core 2 duo laptop between different versions of the kernel. infact 1 particular kernel didnt seemt o run the fan at all and my laptop would get pretty hot. Im getting pretty disapointed with the development of not just the ...

Re: Kernel 4.0.4-rt1
Is there a script that helps build the kernel with patch.
ive done it before with 3-12 and up with poor results, mind you those kernels are horroble on my machiens either resulting in complete system locks or just buggy.

Re: Install from CD/???
Why would you want too :/ machines like that if they are to be repurposed are probably better of as a router/firewall. a not so old machine is pretty cheap, i picked up a laptop 2ghz dual core centrino with 2gb ram for £40 added power supply £20 and a 40gb sata drive for less than £10. Runs lubuntu ...

Re: No more sound output with internal card after update
what kernel are you using in mint compared to ubuntu 15.04? I would try running an earlier kernel if thats even possible. ive found some buggy behaviour with newer kernels on older hardware, ranging from just plain not working on my desktop computer and on my laptop wifi drops out among other things...

Re: Hail to Impulse Response!
one last thing though, dont dismis the reverb plugins that are availible though. one day you will find a use for them. I was doing some tracks recently and had loaded up some lexicon 480l IR's as much as i like them they just wernt working. Loaded up safe reverb, fiddled with a few knobs a touch of ...

Re: Hail to Impulse Response!
Hey guys, Is it only me or does IR introduce a small delay? Is it actually realtime? I'm not talking of course about the obvious delay in the typical response curve. I mean: if I turn up "dry" and turn down "wet", and play both the original signal and the *dry* output, they are ...

Carla + Calf Anyliser
Anyone else having issues with the calf anyliser, gui loads and empty box with the carla rack background.
nothing else just empty space, this plugin should show a graphic RTA plus phase graph. Was working in ubuntu 12.04

Re: Hail to Impulse Response!
Getting it right at the source is the best way to go about things, whcih means having the right mic, with the right preamp with the right sound infront of it. once you have captured that sound though, then the plugins can really be used to good effect. again picking the right plugin for the job/desi...

Re: Kernel 3.8 ubuntu 14.04
nothing usefull from demsg, just the usefull wifi messages about scanning accosiating and deasosciating. curiously its not stopped working now for the past hour. I wonder if its this places wifi connection, however once it disconnects they wifi hotspot is no longer visiable and wont come back until ...

Kernel 3.8 ubuntu 14.04
The 14.04 kernels are pretty unreliable for my old hardware. 3.13 wifi didnt work well, 3.16 is better but i get droppouts requiring turning wifi off/on. I also have a few other issues that i think may be kernel related BUt no 3.8 kernel, only 3.13 and 3.16 and much older 3.4 I tried adding kx studi...

Re: GVST plugins
the mono bass plugin is something ive been looking for.
Havnt found one anywhere else but being able to mono the sub frequencies is very handy, particularly on the master bus.

Re: Send audio from jack capture to Also - REW
maybe you could use route the jack output to a pulseaudio loopback sink and then send that to your program? this sounds like a recipie for distaster. system analisis is really sensitive to stuff that mess with the signal, delay for one can mess things up. the alsajack bridge also has some impact on...

Re: Send audio from jack capture to Also - REW
I sacked the idea of getting it working. but discovered that if i stop jack, the interface becomes availible in REW. which is actually more ideal than running the alsa jack layer. Was able to get output and input from REW. the only limitation was that there was only the first 2 ports out of the 32 a...

Re: Realistic sounding pitch shifted vocals
Give the chorus a little depth? I did that with: - singing 3 voices - copied each voice into 7 tracks, all - slightly differently detuned with AM pitchshifter - slightly differently delayed (audio clip shifted in time for a few ms) - fattened up with TAP Fractal Doubler OK, the song's not finished ...
