Re: New Free Synth - Helm - Now in Beta

Oh. Thanks. I got it wrong like vsti cant be opensource, linux is opensource, so if somebody doesnt support LV2 but VSTI he doesnt support Linux :-). Thank you.

I will wait for VSTi version of helm then.
Personally i dont need LV2 if i can have vst :)

Where to find linux vst? Carla and Helm are unstable for me in Tracktion (when opening helm gui in carla in saved project, tracktion crashes). Thank I'm not distributing the Linux VST for license reasons as the sdk is incompatible with the GPL. If you put the sdk from the steinberg website in ~/src...

Re: New Free Synth - Helm - Now in Beta

So ive tried lv2 version. My first impression:

GREAT modulation possibilities. The most universal and userfriendly linux free synth ive tried, hands down.

Re: New Free Synth - Helm - Now in Beta

Where the VST is installed?
Ive downloaded .deb package and installed. Tracktion didnt find any new vsti :(.
I can see that there is lv2 but my daws dont have lv2 support so linux vst is essential for me. Thanks

Re: Any good filters?

Yeah, you are right but still... any creative tool can be great :-).
For now i´ve bought monotron with its lovely and noisy ms10 filter. I love it on drums, it can make them warm, crisp and compressed :-D
