Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

The instruments are very loud. Xmonk maximum to 0.30 Gain, XPolymonk maximum to 0.07 Gain before clipping. Can you turn the volume down, more digital headroom? Okay, I've reduced the overall gain for the poly version. Also I've re-add the vowel parameter to be adjustable in the UI. For the note par...

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

Okay, I've set a limit to max C6 for both versions now. That is the highest note the synth could cope with.

Yes, the same is true for the monophonic version.
I'll see what I could do to smooth it.

And here it is, a polyphonic version (with 6 voices) of the Xmonk:

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

Had lots of fun. Works for me in Qtractor and Carla. Nice, I'm glad to hear that. Thinking of creating XPolyMonk with lots of Xmonk- and midifilter-instances in Carla  Funny that you mention it, as I'm currently working on a poly version. Locally here I've a 6 voices version running (takes...

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

I'm able to make it work in carla and ardour including the little light simulation. Works now in both with external midi gear for me.
It's pushed to latest git,
Let me know please if you still have a issue with it.

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

Well, I found a solution were both (ardour5 and Carla) seems to be happy, but, I'm not. As it didn't allow the little light animation. (Point is that Carla didn't play nicely with control output ports). However, as I know that now, I may found a other solution. Even if I didn't be a fan of atom port...

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

Okay, I say FUCK. Last development circle I concentrate on Ardour5, and there anything works like expected, even without showing the GUI.
It's a real pain now to see that you are right.
In carla it indeed only work when you've enable the GUI.
Fuck, back to the draw-board.

Thanks. I like how the GUI changes colour with pitch and vowel.

It's a fun plugin!

Thanks.
I'm glad you like the little animation, then that was on of the reasons for the initial issues with midi support.

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

I noticed on more bug related to loading a saved session in Ardour, were Xmonk may init with garbage values. I've fixed that now. Also I've fixed now the issue with the little x-button in the window decoration of the midi keyboard, it works now (hide on delete). I can only play Xmonk from E1 - E3, w...

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

I tried Carla and the notes sustain when I hold down a key. The modulation wheel isn't fully working in Carla. I ticked 'receive CC' in Carla and the dot in the Xmonk GUI moves but the vowel changes only intermittently. Another issue is that if the GUI is not visible Xmonk plays the same note no ma...

khz wrote:At the moment you can play Xmonk "only" from E1 - E3. Would it be technically possible to let him play the full range A0 - C8(?)?

The limit from E1 -E3 is only set in the UI when you use the mouse. When you use a keyboard you've the full range.

Re: [LAA] Xmonk.lv2 a little sound generator

Using jack_midi_dump I got this : 23: 90 32 51 note on (channel 0): pitch 50, velocity 81 My controller doesn't send anything while the key is held. I had a look at the code. Is the variable 'gate' meant to be a pointer? Yes, it's shared data provided by the host. I wonder if you've the same issue ...
