Re: Sonoj Convention 2018 video recordings now available

Dynamically-loaded modules called plugins allow to avoid many related problems, and that's why plugins are better than built-in code/modules. Generalisation on this isn't very prudently. Dynamically-loaded modules called plugins could introduce a couple of problems as well. For example, in the guit...

Re: AV Linux uninstall Mixbus

Hi

I ain't know exactly about AV Linux, but usually Mixbus is installed in /opt.
And usually Mixbus install as well a uninstall.sh script which you could use (as root) to uninstall Mixbus.

Re: Flatpak - Flathub

Not that I ever had many problems with a) and b) in my life, but others that run mission critical applications maybe will disagree. I running linux debian/sid now longer then 15 years, and must admit, that I only get problems with applications that I ain't build myself or install from my distributi...

Re: Dragonfly Hall Reverb

that could be tested just by reversing a hall IR with a wav editor (e.g. audacity) and running it in a convolver (ir, klangfalter). Is that the effect people are looking for? That isn't how convolution works. Convolution is a linear effect, so, there isn't a start and a end, which you'll need to re...

Re: Linux Plugins (LADSPA, DSSI, Vamp, LV2, VST)

If Ardour and other DAW lack the ability to run the JSFX, it does not mean that they are not Linux plugins. Or what is the definition of "Linux plugins"? Most Audio applications (like Muse, Carla, guitarix, . . and so has Reaper ) has a own, internal plugin API, which is (mostly) only use...

Re: Linux Plugins (LADSPA, DSSI, Vamp, LV2, VST)

Okay, here's a twisty one for you: Thanks to a module from developer Rcomian some JSFX scripts can be run natively in VCV Rack. VCV Rack can be run as a native Linux VST plugin (VeeSeeVSTRack). If the JS plugins can be instantiated in the VCV Rack VST plugin, do they then qualify as native Linux pl...

Re: Improve performance and reduce latency

I can play with a "decently" low latency with 256 samples at 2 periods/buffer, but i still get occasional xruns (especially when i play a good amount of notes together with my midi controller) . If i try setting it at 128 samples, xruns are going insane, even when i don't play anything an...

Re: My Gx_head_amp recordings get "fried" no matter what I do

Gx_head_fx is stereo, but with your setup, with out_1 disconnected, you're only recording half of it Well, as long you ain't involve a stereo modulation plugin like Chorus,Flanger or Phasor, both channels been identical, so recording only one channel will give you a proper mono signal, the same as ...

Re: My Gx_head recordings get "fried" no matter what I do

So whenever any knob is higher than zero (as in my screenshot, and please notice it is the screenshot of a preset I just downloaded, the knobs all came with those high levels), you are passing clipped signal to the next element in the chain (gx_fx). Isn't that a no-no in digital recording? No, when...

Yes, I'm pointing out a problem with this thread that a personal attack on developers sparked a discussion. If someone spits my friend's face, I don't say "well maybe they have a point, my friend doesn't take the trash out all the time". Ah, okay, I get your point, sorry then, I just have...
