I just had the same problem (I'm using AVLinux 6.0.1 right now). Then I read what GMaq said, because if anyone knows what he's talking about, it's the man himself. I noticed that he mentioned MSDOS is supported as a partition table, but I have mine set up using GUID. I suspect that to be the problem...
