Ok, did all that and made the swap partition, and guess what? AV Linux installer can't find it and won't install because of that. This wasn't supposed to tke all day! What is the problem?

So now I have another question. With that flaky Windows 8 UEFI boot system, I always have to press F12 and switch to hard drive boot to access my Mint. Once I have AV installed, is there anything I need to know about being able to boot into it? That may be an obvious question, because it seems to me...

I think I found a solution. Where my AV disc was mounting the partitions I needed to edit on a media mounting point and would not let me unmount them, I tried it on my Mint Live disc and opened up gparted on that, which seems to be working. I have a laptop which has Windows 8 OEM. Shortly after I got it, I installed Linux Mint, so now it's a dual boot system.
