Shell scripts were my solution too; before I discovered Non Session Manager.

Re: The state of sample players on Linux

Hello (blame it on google alerts) :) Maybe developing a relationship with Plogue or Camel Audio and work with them to ensure that their samplers continue to work with Wine? Well, Camel Audio needs to get theirs working in Wine first... Better yet, given time, I wish we could release a native Linux ...

Sure.

Hello and welcome :D

I can't help with your tone generator but if you don't get a response about it in the next day or two, try posting a question about it in the Computer Related Hardware section of the forum.

Re: fsthost and wine 1.5

Not sure about fsthost, what happens if you try: sudo apt-get install fsthost wine1.4 tony@tony-HP-Compaq-dc5800-Small-Form-Factor:~$ sudo apt-get install fsthost wine1.4 [sudo] password for tony: Reading package lists... fsthost and wine 1.5

I'd like to install fsthost but it wants to install wine 1.5 and remove wine 1.4. Is this likely to hose my system (KxStudio 12.04.2 x64)? Festige is working for me, but I think fsthost would be better. I could use it with command line arguments in nsm-proxy. Vsthost works for one of my VSTi's but n...

Re: Many eyes on Rakarrack

How did you generate the Makefile? Just ./autogen.sh ; ./configure ? Yes, I followed the directions here http://rakarrack.sourceforge.net/dl.html The reason I don't need the patch is I don't have the "-Werror=format-security" flag, which the Debian build process has but I don't. Do you? O...

Re: Many eyes on Rakarrack

Ok, building from source I still don't need the patch. Which compiler are you using? tony@tony-HP-Compaq-dc5800-Small-Form-Factor:~$ ls -alFh `which g++` lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 7 Mar 13 2012 /usr/bin/g++ -> g++-4.6* tony@tony-HP-Compaq-dc5800-Small-Form-Factor:~$ file `which rakarrack` /usr/local/b...

Re: Many eyes on Rakarrack

I built this built from source because transmorgrifox suggested it as a possible way to resolve issues with rakarrack. Yeah, that makes sense. Exactly what version did you build from source? lastest git or some source tarball? Did you apply any patches? I used the latest git which is also what the ...

Re: Many eyes on Rakarrack

OK, so the binaries are different - is this rakarrack from the .deb or compiled from source? I built this built from source because transmorgrifox suggested it as a possible way to resolve issues with rakarrack. I was hoping this was a simple case of it not working on 64-bit but clearly that's not ...

Re: Looking for Latin drum and bass loops

If you don't need high quality samples then http://www.sf2midi.com/ has a lot of free sf2 fonts and you can do a Google search for midi latin drum/percussion patterns. For top quality (and top $$) Addictive Drums runs in Wine. In between those two, you'll want to learn more about samplers on Linux h...

Re: Newbie setting up a recording studio project

I peeked around and I don't have too many files to worry about blowing up, so maybe a clean start would be good. Looking at the repositories page for KXStudio might be a bit confusion but I think I can figure it out. Is this how everyone added the KXStudio repositories? http://kxstudio.sourceforge....
