Re: Ardour 4.2 Crashes When Displaying Plugin GUI

It's probably a broken plugin. Did you install new ones recently? I'm trying out the plugins that come with KXStudio as standard, all are up-to-date. I noticed that the following plugins work OK: synthv1 drumkv1 helm amsynth but the following cause Ardour to crash: Calf Organ Noize Mark3r Sorcer Fa...

Re: Ardour 4.2 Crashes When Displaying Plugin GUI

This is not a general problem with Ardour/kxstudio 14.04 which I use and it does not have this problem. I suggest starting Ardour at the command line and checking the terminal messages when it crashes. The only error message I get when starting Ardour from a terminal is "segmentation fault", I was ...

Ardour 4.2 Crashes When Displaying Plugin GUI

Ardour 4.2 crashes with a segmentation fault when I double-click on a plugin in the editor mixer strip. This happens for all plugins with a custom GUI. Plugins with a generic GUI are displayed OK. This seems to be specific to KXStudio as this doesn't happen when running Ardour 4.2 on AVLinux. I inst...

Re: Shuriken Beat Slicer 0.4

Keyboard shortcuts for moving slice points to next/previous zero-crossing have been added (N and P respectively). Recent Projects menu now added too! Also, I was mistaken that there was an issue with the waveform not being drawn accurately. The problem was that when zoomed in to sample detail level ...

Re: Shuriken Beat Slicer 0.4

OK, good news and bad news... The good news is that zero-crossing detection has been added to Shuriken. It's an option when finding onsets/beats, plus slice points now have a context menu which allows you to move the slice point to the next/previous zero-crossing. The help doc has also been updated....

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

Hi paul, I've re-installed KXStudio 14.04.2 and ticked the box to use the default dark theme. I compiled Shuriken and it seems to work fine here - there's no black rectangle and the waveform displays as normal. I'm not really sure what to suggest. Perhaps you've got a graphics driver issue, though t...

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

Hi paul,

Sorry, I was hoping to look into it this weekend but never got the chance. I'll try again next weekend!

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

Right, I'll need to look into why the desktop theme is affecting the waveform. Thanks for flagging this up.

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

Sorry, I'm forgetting that regular users don't typically have all the required development packages installed. No worries, you just need to install the missing packages: automake autotools-dev libtool pkg-config libqt4-dev libqt4-opengl-dev libaubio-dev (or libaubio4-dev) - make sure it's version 0....

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

It might be worth compiling the latest source code as the GUI has changed alot since the last release. It's pretty easy to build Shuriken - instructions are on the GitHub page: https://github.com/rock-hopper/shuriken

If the waveform display is still all black I'll look into this at the weekend.

Re: Quantizing *audio* tracks

Hi paul, are you using the latest code from Git or a package from an earlier release? If this issue is present in the latest code I'll need to look into it before the next release.
