ladspa to lv2
I'm curious why someone hasn't taken some of the good ladspa plugins like c* compressors and taps sigmoid (just 2 off the top of my head that I use) and hacked up guis for them in lv2 format? There is a wealth of ladspa plugins plugins that could be gui-ed. I'm simply curious and am in no way implyi...

Re: linuxvst
Well I would personally love it if the developer of the lepou plugins compiled some linuxvsts. Ive tried reaching out but no response yet.
Is there a drawback to linuxvst vs lv2?

Re: linuxvst
But for a free, closed source developer, what would be the hesitation?

Re: linuxvst
So then, when I send emails to closed source developers, I can suggest JUCE as a no-fuss solution for them to being able to offer their plugins on Linux?
In as far as 'compiling for Linux', does that entail alot of work on the developer's part? So much so that the work would not pay off?

How much effort does it take for someone who makes closed-source vst plugins to port them to linuxvst?

Re: Bitwig Release 26.03.2014
Does this mean then that linuxvst is easier to work with than LV2? Also another thought... Could something (like Carla) exist as a host space with all potentially required resources accessible for any type of plugin? Kind of an uber plugin wrapper? Something like this would allow devs to focus on th...

Re: Carla stalling on linuxsampler.so
I did. Sadly I still have the same problem.
I do believe this is why I tried updating to begin with.
However along the way I have updated various other packages.
I'm not sure how useful bug reporting would be at this point with all of the variables on my system changed.

Yeah, I knew I was opening a can of worms when I wanted to upgrade to the latest Carla.
But it's in my lifeblood. I can't....stop.....need....bleeding edge.....

Re: Carla stalling on linuxsampler.so
So I'm running AV Linux 6.02 with the KX repos installed. So here is some output: carla_is_engine_running() CarlaEngineThread::run() carla_load_filename("/home/thurston/Samples/Bass Guitars/Rickenbacker_4001/Fingered1.sfz") CarlaEngine::loadFilename("/home/thurston/Samples/Bass Guitar...

Re: Carla stalling on linuxsampler.so
It would appear so. I've tried multiple different sfzs from different sources, all of which I can and have used in Linuxsampler with no problems. They all just silent crash carla. I tried running from a terminal and seeing if there was any output but there was nothing except for Segmentation Fault. ...

Carla stalling on linuxsampler.so
Hey falktx,
Carla stalls on a plugin refresh on linuxsampler.so
She also crashes when trying to directly load a .sfz.
Running near-stock AV Linux 6.02

Re: Bitwig Release 26.03.2014
I've used Cakewalk since before it was called Sonar. Needless to say Cakewalk is the DAW I grew up on and I know it intimately. Having said that, I actually prefer Ardour/Harrison Mixbus. I have transitioned from using Sonar 8.5 Producer as my professional work environment, to using primarily Harris...

Re: [LAA] JACK 0.124.0 released
Hmm, the only thing that made session managment even remotely usable was the ability to use the Claudia-Launcher to add programs to the project. If I have to find the command for each program, everytime I want to start something new, that's just another step preventing me from just laying down some ...
