Hi.
What are the best options for an USB audio interface with 4 XLR in's or more?
For using with Linux, of course...
Thank you

Audio interface upgrade: firewire or USB?
Hi. I'm currently using a Saffire LE FW interface with elementary OS Luna on a Macbook (late 2006). Everything is ok (especially if I use the lowlatency kernel). But I need to upgrade to an interface that has, at least, 4 XLR in's (the Saffire LE only has 2). But I'm divided. Should I buy: - Another...

ALSA and USB interfaces: limited use?
Hi Is it true that ALSA will only use 2 ins and 2 outs with a USB interface, limited to 16 bit and 44100 Hz? Meaning that it's useless to have an USB interface that has. let's say, 4 xlr inputs at 24 bit/96 KHz because ALSA won't care and will use only two at the same time and at 16 bit /44KHz? Thanks

No sound coming out from a Macbook 5,2 headphones
:( Can anyone help solving a problem on a Macbook 5,2 running Linux Mint 16, in which no sound comes out from the headphones nor external loudspeakers? I tried to change things in Alsa Mixer and Sound settings, but with no luck. It does mute the built-in speakers and it recognizes the phones (in the...

Firewire not outputing from headphones
Hi. I have two firewire interfaces (a M-Audio Firewire Solo and a Focusrite Saffire LE). They both work ok (especially the Saffire), but: I can't hear nothing from the headphones connected to the interfaces. I tried all the possibilities of connection with jack, especially with the Saffire which has...

USB 2.0?
Hello. If I have a compute with USB 2.0 ports and a USB 2.0 audio card, like, for instance: - Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 - Alesis io2 Express or io4 - M-Audio Fast Tack Pro or Fast Track Ultra Will it work at 2.0 speeds? Because I'm hesitating between a firewire card (like the Edirol FA-66 or the Preson...

PreSonus Firestudio Mobile - any experience?
Hello. I'm about to buy a new card to replace my M-Audio Firewire solo which has just one XLR mic in. I thought about using a second mic with a XLR-TRS adapter, but I'm affraid it wouldn't work. So, let's go for a new one. Hesitating between USB and Firewire (because of the USB 1.1 and 2.0 stuff wit...

Re: M-Audio M-Track Plus?
Why is it a better deal? The M-audio fast track line are a bit noisy on the pre-amps, and output analog. The fact it tops out at 48KHz suggests a number of corners were cut on the digital side too. And the Alesis IO2 Express or IO4? On par with the fast tracks. Get a 2i2 if your budget is around $1...

M-Audio M-Track Plus?
Hi.
Does anyone have any experience with M-Audio M-Track Plus USB audio interface?
Do you hnow if it works well with Linux? It's not on the ALSA Matrix list, but it's also quite new, I think.
Thanks

Wind controllers?
Hi. I'm thinking about buying a wind controller, probably a Yamaha WX5 (although I consider the Akai option, especially the EWI-USB). But I woludn't like to be forced back to Mac OS or be Wine-dependent. Does anyone have an exoerience with the Yamaha WX5 in Linux? What about the other wind controlle...

Re: Greetings from the UK
I see you had no answer. I'm willing to buy a wind controller, either a more expensive one (like the Yamaha WX5) or an Akai EWI-USB. It seems that this one works well under Linux, from what I read after googling. Since your post, have you had any success with wind controllers? Anyway, I think I will...
