Re: Who here can master music for money?

If you want to sell me your services, I'm willing to pay. I would recommend doing a ~30 sec clip as a sample, tell me how much it would be to master the whole song. I wouldn't ask you to name a price until you know just how easy/hard mastering the song(s) can be. The pricing is up to you. Just base ...

Re: OpenAV: Luppp demo video

Looking forward to it! I know the software is early, but I have a question about how it handles samples.

If had the BPM set 130, and I chose a drum loop sample that was recorded at 132BPM, would Luppp scale the sample to fit within the four beats, or would it simply be off time?

Re: programmable dynamic software mixer?

I would highly recommend Ardour. I use it to automate loads of parameters, and the volume faders in partuclar would be very easy and simple to use.

Re: Who here can master music for money?

Sorry for the delayed response, LONG stretch at work. It is electronic dance music, with an odd mix of elements. I would like to have it sound polished. I am not great at EQ, compression, or anything like it, so I know better than to attempt this myself! Here's the most recent version of my most rec...

Re: I remade my first electronic song.

@SR, thank you! I hope it isn't something that is terribly easy to lump into one genre, and I'm glad you enjoy it. @Tatch, THANK YOU. I think I knew most techniques in those articles, but have been so caught up in arrangement and sound creation that I didn't apply any of it. That was a huge help in ...

I remade my first electronic song.

This is probably the most "me" of all my work so far. It is a hybrid of EDM, Rock, Classical, and more. I figured the best way to end my first album is with the beginning of my electronic music journey, which is exactly what brought me to Linux to begin with. http://snd.sc/1cRGJas

Re: [ANN] Infamous Plugins

Still no luck compiling. I tried and got errors =( It seems that some of the dependencies are out of date on my end. I suppose that's what I get for using DreamStudio and not KXStudio? I have been planning on checking out KXStudio once 12.04.3 is final, so I probably won't have to worry about that m...

Who here can master music for money?

Fellow linuxcians, The album I've been working on for a few years is getting closer and closer to finalization. I don't have ANY perspective on how thesedisparate songs even ought to sounds at this point. Who here can assist with the final master? I want to give someone here the chance to take a bit...

Re: OpenAV Productions: Sorcer

harryhaaren, First of all, as a supporter, thank you for keeping the plugins moving forward! I have a couple of questions. How can a compiling newbie like me get the latest version of your software? Is there a great reason for requiring me to compile, as opposed to using lv2create to give us a simpl...

This is right up my alley. I am glad you've been having a good experience with Linux based music production.

I think this has inspired me to finally use Qmidiarp!

Re: [ANN] Infamous Plugins

I hope this isn't viewed as too lazy or newbish, but I've never had a good time understanding how to compile software. I'm not a developer, and have never been one. For someone who is not immersed in developer language, I think the plugins page could be laid out, or commented in a way that will make...

Re: EQ recommendations and advice

A lot of how you "should" use an EQ is very much up to how the recording was done to begin with, but here are some quick tips that will help get things smoother, faster. Tools you'll need: Mag's notch filter, Calf filter, and I really recommend DJEQ to keep things simple. Starting from the...

Loomer stuff.

Here is a quick sketch I put together last night with Loomer's Sequent, Aspect, and Cumulus CM. (EDIT: I forgot to mention that this was all hosted and fed BPM by Ardour 3.1) This made me think of Arpee Ong and wrl. Not as proficient as Arpee or as melodically gifted as wrl, but good stuff for a ske...

I'm now seeding for the easy spread of AVL 6.0.1.

Good thing I have an extra laptop to test this on!
