Re: Mid/Side processing.

Well I suppose I could RTFM from time to time. I looked here: http://plugin.org.uk/ladspa-swh/docs/ladspa-swh.html#tth_sEc2.69 But didn't see anything more detailed than that. Where is this better source of documentation? It appears to look the same to the Calf Analyzers, so I'm going to use t...

Re: Mid/Side processing.

I just thought harder about it and realized I could use Calf's fantastic analyzer to watch the true reactions to the settings on the Matrix Spatializer. It turns out that the perfect Vertical aka Mid and Lateral aka Side settings are +384 and -384. Funny numbers, but there you have it. Still doesn't...

Re: Mid/Side processing.

All righty. After playing with it a LOT, I've found a nearly transparent setting for the SWH Matrix Spatializer. I say nearly transparent as it peaks about 0.5db louder, and the stereo image seems just a touch repanned to the left. Here is a track with the original control signal for two measures, t...

Re: Mid/Side processing.

but at least every sound is coming though, unlike my experience with the matrix spatializer. I don't understand what the problem is that you're having. You duplicated the channel/track, put matrix spatialiser on each one, set one to mid and the other to side...and you don't get every sound coming t...

Re: Mid/Side processing.

I know no specifics of these plugins, but I don't see what else you would expect from a stereo to M/S plugin. You process the mid or the side signal as you please with extra plugins affecting the L or R respectively, then when you have processed the M/S as you wish you put a M/S converter at the en...

Re: Mid/Side processing.

Also, is there any mid / Side compressors http://www.linuxdsp.co.uk/download/lv2/download_fc70/ Lat / Vert mode processes Mid / Sides then recombines back to stereo if its any use. It is, and I completely forgot about it. i use the FC70 for some stuff already =) This in combination will help with t...

Re: Mid/Side processing.

There is a ladspa splitter by Steve Harris, matrix. It's not the ideal solution if you want to do mid/side processing on lots of tracks but it does work. I've just played around with that one. There are some big quirks with it. 1-It outputs a stereo signal. L channel is the mid, and R is the side. ...

Mid/Side processing.

I am learning to mix in mid / Side, and I am having a hard time doing this process in Linux. The only luck I've had is that the calf-git plug-ins have the newer 5 band eq, which allows 3 bands with selectable filters, and a high and low shelf. This would be great if the high and low shelves were ava...

Re: Hard Electronic Music.

I've uploaded an instrumental version in case you want to hear it without all the vocals. This version also has the sub bass and sub kick turned up about 2 and 3 db. I wonder if it's too much, but I'm sure I'll know when we play it at the club =) https://soundcloud.com/antonymelectronica/fraught

Re: Hard Electronic Music.

I really like this one! Especially the vocals are really cool. It really adds a great dimension and layer to the beat, and "completes" it. Is it you singing? Yes indeed it is! I've been trying to work on my growl/scream tone for a while, and it seems to have worked out all right. The girl...

Re: Hard Electronic Music.

Thanks diizy. I try my best not to suck =) I am possibly doing a show in June, and I just finally am happy with how one song has turned out. I am going to have it mastered soon, and have the other songs based off of that master fo the show. https://soundcloud.com/antonymelectronica/fraughtvox-sessi...

Re: Track management in Ardour...

I appreciate the enthusiasm, lazyklimm, and a lot of the items can be addressed this way, other than the fact that the cpu overhead still becomes an issue. I don't really like having to break my workflow up with exporting tracks, then importing them and resetting routing. It kills workflow. I know t...

Track management in Ardour...

Hey all, I can't find a way to do two VERY common things I need done in Ardour, and I hope I'm simply missing it. 1) Clone an existing track. How do I completely clone a track without having to first insert a new track, then copy the audio or MIDI, then copy the plugins, then correct the routing? Sho...

Re: pitch shifters

Nevermind guys. I just kept hunting the dependencies down until it built.

Now I'm setting up some weird vocal stuff. Very cool! Maybe I can end up with one of those MOD devices and really rock this thing =)
