Re: Who needs a drummer?
I can play jazz, rock, R&B ,Latin rhythms and other stuff. I'm not the best at hard rock or metal since I can't play double bass drums.

Re: Which limiters are considered to be good?
I don't even use a limiter in any other channel usually, Just compression and eq. I make sure no channel is clipping though and the mix sounds as best as it can to me. Then I push everything up into that master limiter to get it a little louder. But Alas, I still have much to learn about mixing. :?

Re: Which limiters are considered to be good?
Yeah for me the Foo limiter v2 is the best one to put on the master channel.

Re: a bit of a Bitwig update
The more I use Bitwig the more Impressed I become with Tracktion 5 :? Seriously, I don't want to be too negative and all and I know it's version 5.0 vs version 1.0. Bitwig is cool and all. The pro's for me are the quality of the built in effects/instruments and the powerful audio editing capabilitie...

Re: Hello brave new world!
I don't know about running PT on Linux. I havn't really used protools myself. I think most people here would say run Ardour instead. Thats what I use for audio tracking, editing, and mixing. It works very well for me. Another good option for that kind of thing is Tracktion for Linux.

Re: (Probably) hardware related noise
Yeah I guess you're right it's not the cables. I'm just shooting in the dark really. Maybe the motherboard in your pc isn't properly grounded or something.

Re: (Probably) hardware related noise
What if you unplug the guitar and keyboard cables from your interface? Is there noise then? If so it could be a cable issue. Maybe move the cables away from your speakers or mouse or invest in some higher quality instrument cables with better shielding. I only say this because I have a similar probl...

Re: What is Calf Emphasis effect?
Interesting stuff here. I have a Behringer uca222 that has 2 RCA inputs and 2 RCA outputs. So I guess If I plug a turntable into it so I can sample an actual vinyl record, I'll want to apply this effect since the uca222 probably doesn't have this eq built in. But I guess I also assume that if that t...
