Re: Problem compiling Sooperlooper under ArchLinux
I half suspect it’s a GCC6 issue, same as guitarix about a couple of weeks ago. Dunno. I won’t speculate, though. Will be back when I have hard facts.

Re: Problem compiling Sooperlooper under ArchLinux
Tried to build it from the AUR this morning and failed. I didn’t have the time to look into what caused the error but I will do as soon as I get a chance.CrocoDuck wrote:Did you see there is a sooperlooper package in the AUR?

Re: stopping pulseaudio on Arch
Sorry I can’t help about dealing with PulseAudio itself, since I don’t have it, but it seems things are a little more complex than the autospawn = no option in /etc/pulse/client.conf. I Googled around and found this: http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/204522/how-does-pulseaudio-start , which I ...

Re: [Arch] why no Fsthost in AUR4?
A new version of the PKGBUILD has been released, addressing all previous issues. It’s good to go.Joermungand wrote:I ran into a couple of issues first building it, then running it.

Re: Any DAWs offer decent editing of wave recording?
It seems to me that what you’re after is exactly the Region concept in Ardour (http://manual.ardour.org/working-with-regions/). What’s wrong with that?

Re: [Arch] why no Fsthost in AUR4?
A PKGBUILD for Fsthost 1.6.1 has been made available in AUR: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/fsthost/ (not thanks to me, though; judging by the coincidence in user id’s, I’d say the contributor is the actual Fsthost developer). I ran into a couple of issues first building it, then running it. See...

Re: SuperCollider users, check this out
I’ve compiled SuperCollider 3.7.1 and plugins from git and LNX Studio works just fine. Apparently v3.6.6 doesn’t behave properly in standalone mode, anyway, so probably that’s why the -a option is not available.

Re: Shuriken Beat Slicer 0.5
I wrote a new PKGBUILD for this one (shuriken-git), so as to make both versions available. The new one builds against Qt5 and the waveform scrolls just fine here (with Qt 5.6).

Re: No sound from Youtube
Great to hear that! I could see some Gnome-related stuff being updated, but I use XFCE with only a few Gnome apps, so it didn’t pull PulseAudio on me.funkmuscle wrote:figured it out.... Gnome updated and reinstalled PulseAudio...
Uninstalled PulseAuido and all is good with the world again!

Re: No sound from Youtube
That's what I thought too. Nothing plays no matter what browser I try. by the way, do I need PulseAudio? I've removed it months ago so I can't see that being the issue. I don’t have PulseAudio. I’ve never had it on this system. But that’s the idea. I’ve updated the flash plugin just like you, and I...

Re: No sound from Youtube
I thought the Youtube player was supposed to be HTML5. Works fine here (Arch, too, with all updates; tested in Firefox, Chromium, and Midori). I tested Vimeo, as well, and it worked but then I realised it was JavaScript. Where do you find flash videos nowadays?

Re: drumgizmo-0.9.9
Right, the LV2 plugin doesn’t work in any host I’ve tried. But if you run drumgizmo in a terminal with the appropriate options, it will work. Thought it might be useful.funkmuscle wrote:doesn't work with Carla or jalv.select for me

Same here. The standalone version started at the command line works perfectly well, though.
