Re: xruns on 44100

Frequency range of speakers & headphones

What sort of frequency range should one look for in speakers or headphones?

(I am also interested in the range of human hearing & what is the highest bit rate & frequency worth having - sorry if that is OT here)

Thanks

Program patch changes in Seq24

After a long time searching I have finally found an explanation of how to program patch changes in Seq24. Just in case anyone else needs to know it is here under 'setting an instrument':

I would be very interested to know if anyone from here has had any success with the Raspberry Pi for music production.

Re: Alsamixer - All levels to zero after reboot

Ok I put the skript in the .kde/Autostart folder. But them my system hangs on reboot. The skcipt looks like this: #!/bin/bash # restore alsamixe settings sleep 10 && alsactl restore -f ~/.config/asound.state :?: Just a thought. Have you tried running this from a terminal to see if it throws up any ...

Re: USB based linux for live performance?

If your laptop boots from a CD you can use super grub boot disk to boot from a pendrive.

I still use version 1

I am getting the same problem in Bodhi, so it looks like it is a Ubuntu problem.

I had a similar problem recently. I got round it by using qjackctl to connect the input to 'system playback' to get monitor.

Re: Plugin for multiplying voices into a choir

In Ardour you can copy audio to a new track, then under the right click options when you click the clip, you can transpose either by octaves or semitones for harmonies or a small amount ('cents') for doubling. You can either slightly move the audio clip or use any number of delay plug ins for furthe...

I have managed to get an internal soundcard & a USB one running together, I don't know if the method will work for you, see:

Re: USB based linux for live performance?

There is a piece of software called remastersys that is for turning a running system in to a live CD. I have successfully used it on Bodhi, which is Debian/Ubuntu based.

Re: 2 soundcards to record 4 tracks. [SOLVED]

Hi I set up jack for the alesis & then added the soundcard. I would not relish trying to sync tracks after 2 passes. I do not think the cassette transport is that reliable & minor variations mean you could be on to a hiding to nowhere. Ultimately 'the proof of the pudding is in the eating' & this wo...

Re: 2 soundcards to record 4 tracks.

Just managed to use this to record four simultaneous tracks in Ardour (Stereo drum machine, guitar Vocals)

The only other thing I needed to do was connect the on board soundcard to the system playback using qjackctl to get monitor (through the usb soundcard) while playing.
