I have an alesis io2. It is hard wired at 48000. If it was run at 44000 it would be constantly converting

Re: How long do you need to finish a song?

When it comes to composition, I can get stuck. I am just finally finishing a song that I began twenty years ago.

Re: Poll: What samplerate do you use with jack?

My interface is hardwired to 48k so that is what I use.

Re: Experiences with Bodhi Linux?

I tried it but in the end opted for Debian. I found it clunky compared to Debian and Xfce.

Whether you use Bodhi or Debian make sure to add the kxstudio repos to get the best most up-to-date music packages.

Very interested, just a shame they have not upgraded the on board sound, even to 16 bit.

MusE 3 Debian Binary

Hi
Does anyone know where I can get a MusE binary for Debian Stable please. I have Googled to no avail; I do not currently have a computer with the toolchain for building from source and was hoping to avoid setting that up. Thanks in advance.

Re: Skip the ISO and focus on documentation?

I voted against the iso. I went from being a fan to hating KDE and prefer my distro of choice (Debian) with the repos anyway. I would prefer to see more software and updates than an iso I will never use.

The repos are awesome.

Re: Why Linux? And why Linux for pro-audio?

Late to the discussion, but I am not sure I could do what I do in another operating system so easily: 1) I control the installation to give me a lightweight environment, choosing Debian and Xfce. 2)I use a high performance custom kernel (Liquorix) 3) I use the KXStudio repositories to create an ecos...

Re: Ardour vs Other DAWs

Mixbus is the Ardour transport but with a custom mixer, built to emulate the workflow of a Harrison analog console. The eq, compression/ limiting and high pass filter are built into the mixer, as is a very nice tape saturation and a limiter on the master bus. Because it is based on Ardour, transitio...

I am wrestling with the same problem. Connecting to Ardour or Mixbus and trying to record midi fails as well.

Worth noting that you can get the plugin essentials pack for $19.99 when you purchase Mixbus.

Re: How to use a microphone jack on my pc as a line in jack?

Look carefully through the mixer settings and see if you can turn the pre-amp down or off (some pc's call it mic boost). It is usually the pre amp that is noisy. If you can turn it off you may find the input quite usable.

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

They did offer it to me on sale once when I was out of funds. I am hoping it will show up again as they have repeated several of the offers. It's there now today for $29.80. Thanks. Just got the email, so I will go for it. Anyone use the character plugins and have any idea of their capabilities ple...
