Does any one know of a good Jamin tutorial?

Re: looking for a ubuntu substitute

I am using crunchbang, which is configured debian and has a great community. Also handy that there is an rt kernel in the repos.

Re: USB Audio Interface: Very specific requirements

My Alesis IO2 express works 'out of the box' with Linux. It has two balanced line mic inputs with phantom power and it has headphone monitoring. It records at 48khz 24 bit and currently retails for around £80. It has midi in/out but I have yet to use it.

Map mixer faders to QWERTY keyboard

Hi
I wondered if there was ever any way to map mixer faders in Ardour or muse to a computer keyboard, so, for example A/Z S/X etc would be the up/down controls.

thanks

Re: And now...

Would be great if someone could make a plug in of AT1 - seems to be the best Linux auto tuner around but the stand alone cannot record any settings.

I have found hydrogen can get sulky when used with ardour if you click play in hydrogen rather than ardour.

Re: Hydrogen for sale on Ebay!?

I hate to say, but is this any different from the firms who sell distro CD's? I used to use them back in dial-up days (I still have my very first knoppix CD). It has never been illegal to sell open source software on physical medium, for example Red Enterprise Linux. You are obliged by the GPL to pr...

I was using Bodhi, but just put Crunchbang on my studio laptop. Looking good but yet to do a proper project with it.

Muse 2.0 Improving

Just wanted to say (if you haven't) that you might find it worthwhile to check out the SVN of muse sequencer, as there have been nice developments in appearance (including a nice 'Dark theme' reminiscent of Ardour), bug fixing and functionality.
