I do not know if I'm paranoid, but kernels change so much and so fast, I redoubt it's the reason of new trouble.
Arrhh.. where are we going?
For now my best GNU audio system is: kx12.04!

Re: Jamin won't launch anymore

I tried reinstalling but still no luck. Here is the result of trying to run it in the konsole. Konsol? Kubuntu? what distro are you using exactly? Try in terminal jamin --help . That gives you option you can use, maybe some of then will works (like from memory jamin -p). I always do that first when...

Re: JACK2 xruns - soundcard issue?

Re: Still confused about Pulse Audio

Personally, I resolve all my issue with pulseaudio by using "cadence" .
Some application need pulse-audio and nothing else to work (with audio, of course). Also resolve web browser's issues.

Open source software is typically a volunteer, community effort, and the sharing of resources and information is vital to its overall health and survival. I think collaborating to update the checklist has value. Spinning another audio distro? ...not so much, but up-to-date documentation is somethin...

Re: The Audio Configuration Checklist

"The Audio Configuration Checklist"? I think it's the job of audio-distro developer’s. many of the pages we are used to refer to when configuring the system are kinda getting old. I agree. I confess it would be nice to have a package implementing these tweaks just after a fresh installatio...

unexpected xruns with kxstudio and firewire pro 40

Hi. I use saffire pro 40 with kx12.041 without problem. But now, with 14.04 and 16.04 (nearly the same), I suddenly have xruns when recording with ardour, apparently after system update, last week. http://www.zimagez.com/zimage/screenshot-08082016-130622.php Last jack log here: http://pastebin.com/u...

Re: sources.list changed

Odd thing yes.
But pressing "D" (in terminal of synaptic) make this warning (from my memory) '"W:terminal is not fully operational".
Then, I saw the differences between files and.. nothing. Cant "go on". Or abort or anything! :?
So yes, synaptic get stuck!

Re: sources.list changed

Ok, I wish that could help someone. Maybe advise "Y", for those have amd64? Anyway, I want to report, with 16.04, xfce and synaptic, I've tried "D" an I can't recover from there! There was a strange warning message, and can't do anything from here. Need to got tty, kill s...
