Re: Focusrite Scarlett Gen 3 4i4 (and others)

Ah; thanks! Do you mind explaining what's going on here? (I am a programmer, but I'm not familiar with this code, and there's not much context.) Thanks! USB audio devices that works in asynchronous mode must provide feedback to the host. This is because devices' internal clock is completely indepen...

Re: disable frequency scaling after jack startup

You can fix that with sudo. But you have to edit /etc/sudoers with "sudo visudo" to add a line like

Code: Select all

%sudo	ALL=(ALL:ALL) NOPASSWD:/usr/bin/cpupower
or wherever cpupower is located.

See https://askubuntu.com/questions/166126/ ... ate-memory

You have to re-login to make group membership active.

Try:

Re: JACK Issue

Don't run jackd as root. But make shure that you are in the audio group and that there is a /etc/security/limits.d/audio.conf with # Provided by the jackd package. # # Changes to this file will be preserved. # # If you want to enable/disable realtime permissions, run # # dpkg-reconfigure -p high jac...

It could be that Rosegarden is executing jack automatically and jack is using the default, onboard audio card.
That can be configured.

Edit -> Preferences -> Audio -> Start JACK automatically

Re: Dac ? soundcard ? budget options for mixing?

A DAC is a Digital-to-Analog converter. It converts sigital signals (e.g. a TOSLInk or SPDIF output) to analog audio that can be fed into an amplifier. An audio adapter is a DAC that can speak with aour computer, e.g. via USB or PCI. Most PCs have an audio adapter built in. The quality of produced W...

Squeezebox made of an old Router and OpenWRT

I have an old TP-Link 3600 Router and a Behringer UCA 202 USB interface. With OpenWRT and squeezelite that makes a decent Squeezebox player if you have a Logitec Media Server infrastructure. I tested it with a Scarlett 2i2 first Gen, too, and wasn't satisfied. I couldn't find any parms that provide ...

Re: sfizz

I am too stupid to build a working lv2.

Since I found no build instructions I used:

git clone --recursive https://github.com/sfztools/sfizz.git
cd sfizz/src
ccmake .. (got some errors=
cmake .
make

I got an lv2 but it caused an endless loop in Carla when loading it.
