Re: For ze German readers: article at amazona.de

"Fazit: Es geht und tut nicht weh." Is this the most positive it can get ? Cheers/Tschüß I am not sure if it can be 1:1 translated to "it doesn't hurt". "Es tut nicht weh" in that context is a bit humorous and contains a gentle, encouraging aspect of "try ...

For ze German readers: article at amazona.de

Don't confuse it with Amazon. Amazona is a German web site about gear, mixing, recording and musicians. I wrote a reader's article (in German) trying to spread the word.

Re: [ANN] Yoshimi 1.6.0 released

Just a note, it is confirmed gcc 4.9.x would resolve this, and when the code in Yoshimi was changed recently, it was to make it consistent with the C++ people's unified initialisers. If you want to make it work, you can change all the entries in CLI/CmdInterpreter() from line 101 to line 121 so tha...

Switching off WiFi when there is no LAN

Switching off WiFi and/or blacklisting the WiFi kernel module can save some interrupts and lead to less xruns. But in rooms where you don't have any LAN socket you might need a way to access your home network and the Internet. No problem. A cheap WiFi router with OpenWRT can act as a bridge, being a...

Re: [ANN] Yoshimi 1.6.0 released

Ouch! That went out of support in 2015. The c++11 support was distinctly flaky in those days, and we've been getting steadily more into using it. Is it possible for you to pull in at least gcc4.9.x? That might work. Don't worry. If it is a big thing to retain compatibility to that gcc then just lea...

I'll pass this on to Hermann, he knows this part of the code better than me.

Try headphones. And I mean real headphones, like in “cans”, not in “earbuds”.

Re: binaural synthesis of spatial audio systems on headphones

I have big problems hearing the difference to traditional mixes. Could you provide some audio that switches between traditional and binaural mix every couple of seconds to show the difference?

Thx. Now it compiles.

Loading it as LV2 in old Qtractor projects works ok, too. No incompatibilities so far.

Re: [ANN] Yoshimi 1.6.0 released

Did you get this from github or sourceforge? Also, what is the build number in "src/Misc/ConfBuild.h"? The number you should see is 1653 If you grabbed 'master' instead you should see 1654 There was a narrow window in time where there was a missing "#include" and I was hoping we...
