Good guitarist, good guitar sound. But only one single sound. In a Mod Duo video I'd expect to hear many different sounds and effects. So I was disappointed.

Re: Behringer 204HD and Ardour, Hear sound, but won't record it

With my Behringer 204HD USB sound card I CAN hear my guitar inputted AND hear music from Music players, But Ardout with Jack OR Alsa doesn't show any sound being detected. I can get Audacity to work with ALSA, don't know for sure about Jack. I think it was working before, or it might have been with...

Re: Hacker, maker, musician.. :)

Hey :) I'm a longtime Linux / FOSS / OpenHardware geek. I re-discovered my musical side not that long ago, and have really enjoyed the journey so far. Currently I'm focusing more on the human side of music, practicing on the piano and keyboard, practicing rhythm on the djembe, practicing sight-read...

Re: What music did your parents play in the car at home etc?

Local AM radio station. They hadn't any preferences at all. My mom had a vinyl box set with music from the musical "My fair Lady" but never listened to it. My elder brother and I were the only music enthusiasts in our family. My brother had some cool vinyl singles from the Beatles, Kinks, ...

Re: No sound audible

I have done as you wrote and Yes I am able to record audio from the mics using Audacity :) How is the audio routed from my line-in to my line-out please ? As far as I know there are 2 ways to do it: - Via hardware, e.g. with alsamixer. I guess that "monitor" and "capture" button...

Re: are you always listening at 83dB SPL? aka/ ISO 226:2003 based loudness compensation

Do I right understand that you need an Equalizer which will have different equalization (according to the loudness curve) depending on the gain settings? Some old German HiFi equipment had a valume knob that used "Gehörrichtige Lautstärkeregelung". https://www.radiomuseum.org/forumdata/up...

Re: Behringer UMC202HD or Steinberg UR22

My previous audio interface (Alesis io|2) has stopped working. I'm looking to buy a new one. I'm currently looking at Behringer UMC202HD and Steinberg UR22. I'm wondering if anybody has experiences with any of those and how it has worked out. And if you have any recommendations of which one to buy....

Maybe Catia has a similar function and they are fighting against each other.

Re: catia & vlc default connections

I think it's not working. What for instance does disconnect "PulseAudio.*:.*" "system:playback_.*" mean and how should it work? If I make the connection by hand will it be unconnected immediately again or is there any trigger for changes to take place? It disconnects PulseAudio ...

Re: Carla 2.1-RC1

The UI bridge bug is back that hides the analyzer (only black background) in Calf plugins like some EQs.

Solution: Uncheck Engine->"Use UI bridge ..."

When used as a plugin in Qtrator, uncheck it as well and save the song.

Re: 2020: Suggestions for hardware ?

One aspect though is storage. I plan to use as a main drive a physical WD drive, the one they have for performance applications. I looked briefly at solid state drives although I have the impression that they're much slower in access times. I might be wrong. If you have one single process that's re...

Re: 2020: Suggestions for hardware ?

It might be time to update the years-old machine in the scope of building one that will last for the next batch of years. Currently I run a i5-3570 CPU @ 3.40GHz that has 4 processors, using 16 GB of RAM and a M-Audio 10101LT PCI interface. I would like ot keep the same interface if possible, meani...
