Re: Nobara 40 and MuSE 4.2.1: Cannot Register Existing Type 'GtkWidget'

Hm, looks like GTK problems. Seems it is not really MusE's fault. I wonder if the distro is using GTK3. MusE is still using GTK2. Possibly you need to install some further GTK2 packages, but, from the error messages it seems maybe not. MusE only uses GTK for LV2 plugins which have a GTK2 UI user int...

Re: 'Clip Gain' in MusE

Regarding destructive wave editing: If 'Undo' is clicked, it will return the wave to its original state. If MusE is quit without saving, all edited waves are supposed to return to their original states. In this way, wave editing is 'non-destructive', even though it operates directly on the waves. If...

Re: Ghost/Background notes

Hm. Either I didn't add that ability or it's broken. I can't seem to visually drag-move CC data and notes at the same time. I will keep an eye on that. However, a workaround is to select the desired notes and CC graph points (hold Ctrl while selecting), and then use 'Cut' and 'Paste' shortcuts or ma...

Re: Ghost/Background notes

Yes, in a way. The piano roll and drum editor and wave editor can show multiple parts at once, even from different tracks. Select two or more parts on different tracks (or the same track), then open the piano roll or drum or wave editor on them, by right-clicking on one of them or by using the hot-k...

Updates: 2024 spring, summer, fall?

Just checking in to say hi. Been very quiet for several months. Super busy and distracted. Hoped for a 2024 usual 'spring big fixes' thing but it's delayed. Apologies for no commits to any branches for a while. They are being worked on. Bug reports being monitored but no replies yet. Cheers. Hope yo...

Received! It works! Thank you.
(I wasn't sure if you got my reply because it said the message was still in my outbox.)

Re: Donation page issues

Hi there. After a strange roller-coaster ride, the link seems to be working again. The conclusion two weeks ago was that I was told policies had changed and that you need to be a registered charity [Edit: I meant have a business account] to have a donate button. Case closed, issue closed. I've no co...

Re: Donation page issues

No news yet. Today I saw 7 business days response time, not 2-3 as before.
Thanks for trying :-)

Re: Major song file changes planned

Thanks again Impostor . It occurred to me after I posted, that 'part' tags are unaffected by these changes, so there may still be some limited success in backwards compatibility when loading such a song in an older MusE version. But track name and so on, which have been moved underneath the new 'Tra...

Major song file changes planned

Hi all. Just a warning for anyone testing my 'fix_linux_vst_params' git branch. I needed to make some major song file changes. I just now pushed major changes to the MusE song file format. The song file version number has been bumped from 3.4 to 4.0 From here forward, songs saved with this version d...

Re: Donation page issues

OK Looks like just modern identity updates.
It'll take 2-3 business days for Big Brother to confirm that "I am what I am"
apparently before I can accept donations.

Try next week.
Thanks.
T.

Re: Donation page issues

Ooh. Thanks for the warning. Yeah it's broken.
Not sure why. I guess I'll try updating the link.
Maybe I've not updated my PP account or something... I'll go check what's up at PP.
I'll let you know if it's fixed.

In the meantime you could send me a bottle of beer by express air mail ! :P

Re: Instrument definition for Tchimera Drumkit

I think it may be wiser to keep it in his project for now.
The IDF file, all by itself in MusE, may not be of much use without the rest of his project.

I can add it if he wishes, though. No problem. Just say so and I'll add it.

Cheers.

Re: Instrument definition for Tchimera Drumkit

Or perhaps you'd like to keep it in your project instead of including it in MusE,
so that there is no chance of our file version and yours becoming out of sync over time?

Re: Instrument definition for Tchimera Drumkit

Should I go ahead and add the idf to the project repo now?
