Re: Note-off events

I have just pushed a wee change to github master:
'Export zero velocity note-offs' setting is now off by default.
Existing installations won't see a change but new users will.

Re: Note-off events

@Impostor is the hero of the day. Well, more than one day.
Thanks for helping out.
I might have gone searching the code and broke into some long-winded technical explanation.

Re: vst plugin scan: HY-Poly Synth

Sorry I was unable to test this. It complains that it requires libcurl-gnutls.so.4 and I only have version 3 installed at the moment. Version 4 packages are available but I do not want to upset my system until I do a full update instead of piecemeal. This may have to wait. I suggest filing a github ...

Re: [ Follow-up 3 ] More Spring 2023 fixes

3) Well, whaddya know. There is still yet another song reloading crash (unrelated to any plugin or this report). Thanks for your extreme patience, musers. Tough one. Should be fixed now in github master. My previous fixes by waiting until all the windows deleted was good, but didn't go far enough a...

Re: [solved] undesirable tempo changes

I recall @spamatica suggested that we leave the master track on/off icon in the off state at first to avoid these confusions.

Re: [ Follow-up 3 ] More Spring 2023 fixes

Hm, I did not notice that. Can you post some pics? Keep in mind that drum note names are per-patch. Some soundfonts or plugins have multiple 'kits' like 'rock' or 'orchestra', selected by the different patch numbers. So if your song changes the patch of a midi track (the 'program') throughout the so...

Re: [ Follow-up 3 ] More Spring 2023 fixes

Unaware of MESS fluidsynth? Pity! One thing to consider when using a soundfont plugin is drums. Some soundfonts have drum samples, for example the standard fluidGM set in linux. An important thing is the drum note names. Soundfont drums have names for each of the drum notes. In the MESS fluid...

Re: [ Follow-up 3 ] More Spring 2023 fixes

Yeah it is kind of super out-dated.
But... we try to at least support old archived songs when you dig them out to have a listen, with minimal hassle

Found the cause of 3).
Wow! Tough one. Working on solutions...

Re: [ Follow-up 3 ] More Spring 2023 fixes

Whoa! A few things with this one: 1) You are most likely using a distro-packaged fluidsynth-dssi? Some unofficial unreleased build like 1.9.9-git, like mine says? Get rid of that piece of shit! It crashes QTractor here as well. Build from latest github or SF. That ran OK here. 2) Well, whaddya know....

Re: [ Follow-up 3 ] More Spring 2023 fixes

It's worse here. It crashes as soon as I simply instantiate fluidsynth-dssi!
So, nothing to do with your file.

[ Follow-up 3 ] More Spring 2023 fixes

Hi all. Some more important crash and bad behaviour fixes in github master now. For all its strengths and weaknesses, if we can't trust it not to crash as it is, users will move on. * Fixed: More crashes / bad behaviour during song (re)loading. Further to 08.05.2023. Eliminated QPointer<MasterEdit> ...

Re: [ Fixed ] Ancient crashes when loading another song or file > 'new' or 'close'

Working on more (re)loading crashes, hang in there. I'll have something soon.
The (re)loading stuff still isn't quite right.
You'll get those messages above and maybe crashes.
Some pre-existing bugs there (not mine).

Still in the realm of stability and trustworthiness before moving on...

Re: Geekos DAW (libre music-making repository for openSUSE)

Nice! Good stuff. I found the very end of their build log in the linking section contained -lsord but not -lserd. And here, my build contained both -lsord and -lserd. I think there is only one thing that can do that: PackageConfig .pc files Here is my lilv-0.pc Requires: lv2 serd-0 sord-0 sratom-0 L...
