Re: eDrummer beta
I uploaded an update with some fixes. If you are in the 'Midi in' or the 'Audio' menu and press the up or down arrow, all available devices are shifted down. Yep, that should be fixed now. try to select the same midi-device as already used this error comes: Doesn't happen here with my usb midi devic...

Re: Cheap usb audio interface, optimized for low-latency?
Phil, I just posted a message in the "New Linux Music News" forum announcing the beta. Try it out. The salamander kit has only 2 toms, so I mapped them to your highest and lowest. If you like the program, I'll get you some more toms later. It has no "edge" versus "tip" ...

eDrummer beta
I just finished the initial beta of my eDrummer software. This is a program that turns your computer into a drum sound module. Attach a MIDI controller (ie, MIDI drum pads, MIDI keyboard, MIDI guitar, etc) to your computer, and play a drum kit live via your computer's audio out. Or you could attach ...

How bizarre. Wikisend must have messed up and linked to someone else's file.

Re: SFZ instruments
You recorded the samples and wrote the sfz file. Correct. And also the solo violin. Well actually, none of the waveforms had any sfz mappings, so I've done all the sfz files. What name and website or mail address of yours should I present to the downloader? Just use your own. It doesn't matter to m...

Re: SFZ instruments
Whatever you guys want to do is fine with me. Licence the ones I made myself at will. I don't need any ftp access. I'll just continue as I've been doing, and you guys can archive what you want. It will be useful to have a permanent archive, because after I finish my upcoming "E-Drummer Gig"...

Re: Cheap usb audio interface, optimized for low-latency?
my Pads are DIY acoustic to electronic conversions. Why do you need to know all that? I need to know what midi messages are going to be received, which I could get from roland manuals if you were using their gear. For example, if you were using roland's HH pedal, it appears to send foot pedal contr...

Re: Which windows drum software runs well under wine?
It basically would be a version of SamplV1 but with the ability to have multiple samples assigned to different MIDI notes. I'm starting work on a program designed for E-Drummers who want to midi drum pads (like roland's td pads) to a computer, to play drum sounds "live" in realtime. Is th...

Re: SFZ instruments
the quality of sound The real key there is in all the processing of the waveforms before making the sfx. I often apply lots of noise reduction and filtering techniques, and other processing to clean up the waves. (Adobe Audition is my choice here). I've had many years working with samplers, so I've...

Re: Cheap usb audio interface, optimized for low-latency?
Arch Linux 64bit Good. You should be able to use binaries I send, and won't have to compile. Audiophile 192 as Midi-Input, and as Audio-Output. Good. Should be no major sound issues. Roland TD-8 Module. Good. You're using pro hardware. What model pads? I need to know what articulations they support...

Re: And now...
Hey rich, Got your email, but haven't had time to respond. After the fiasco of the Amiga and OS/2, I learned my lesson to stay far, far away from closed source niche products. So I fortunately never bought that BeBox, nor wasted time learning its API. Still primarily a Windows guy, but dabbling in l...

Re: Cheap usb audio interface, optimized for low-latency?
Phil, tell me more what you have/need. What OS (or distro) are you using? 32-bit or 64-bit? What would you be using to trigger the sounds (ie Roland V-drums)? What assortment of sounds do you need (ie, snare, kick, how many toms/cymbals)? Do you already have the waveforms you want to use? (I use my ...

Just to be clear, when you use zita's ambisonic mode, you would set the mix to completely wet? That would simplify coding.

Re: Cheap usb audio interface, optimized for low-latency?
I'm kind of intruding here, sort of off-topic, but... Are you guys drummers looking for software that turns your computer into a simple, midi-triggered "drum sampler (playback)" with the lowest possible latency and RAM/CPU usage? I may just have the thing for you. My custom "drum box&...
