Re: SFZ with very low volume

Search for <global> and after each global line, insert a volume line after it as so:

Code: Select all

<global>
volume=6

If there is no global, then insert both lines above, at the top of the sfz file.

4 minutes, and 1 chord. Are you trying to outdo Phillip Glass?

Re: [Solved] Pipewire interfering with JACK

Debian Bookworm with KDE... default sound server is Pulseaudio. Debian Gnome... is Pipewire. Debian Mate is also Pipewire. Terrible amount of xruns. I ran synaptics and uninstalled everything pipewire or related to fix my audio. Yet again, Linux developers have made yet more audio problems for endu...

Re: pulseaudio to Pipewire - Ubuntu Studio 22.04

The best command to use when trying to get PulseAudio, PipeWire, and alsa working together is "abracadabra."

Re: Terrible performance

At this time, probably the best linux graphics support is from Intel. Current Intel GPU chips are fast enough for a non-gaming system. You don't need high power graphics for music apps or a browser. And graphics built-into the CPU eliminates one fan. But Ryzen CPUs are nice, and some do have built-i...

any forum where... rules of the development of Linux audio? There is the ALSA developer mailing list, accessed via the official ALSA web site. That's about it as far as any "meeting" where you'll find a significant congregation of audio devs. Although it does have a "theaded view&quo...

You're still investing time and money into that thing? For what you're going to get out of it, you probably would have been better off taking it outside, laying it on the pavement, and driving over it a few dozen times.

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...

I think artix's interpretation of ideology is as a synonym for "branding / marketing". And junkie's interpretation is a synonym for "attitude / goals". And ideology is such a generic label for any sort of "thought formation", that it could be appropriate in either conte...

Re: Exported Midi file format

It's a Casio CT-X**** right? I had a feeling it was a casio. I bought their first digital sampling keyboard the FZ-1. What a piece of junk it turned out to be. I also bought a Privia, which was better quality. But Casio, like Behringer, is a brand that I tend to avoid because they seem to have a kn...

Re: Exported Midi file format

That is a defective MIDI implementation. The manufacturer should either issue a firmware update, or recall the defective product. Be aware that you will not be able to play the vast majority of existing midi files without changing all the "running status note-off" (note-on with 0 velocity)...

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...

Linux fits me better than the throw-away, planned-obsolescence society I don't think a single day does by when I don't read about some new Linux software project springing up with the goal of replacing (ie, making obsolete the codebase, and existing support) of some other software project. It's cal...

Re: Continuing the jack/pipewire debate...

I think the million dollar question is: Why does Pipewire attempt to replace JACK at all? It didn't need to do that. And I don't know of any jack users who were even wanting that. Sure, people wanted an easier way to configure jack, but no one was saying "replace it with something else which pu...

You're kidding!? Recognizing "note-on 0 velocity" as a "note-off" is a requirement of the MIDI 1,0 specification.

Your hardware product has a defective MIDI implementation.

What product is it?
