Virtualbox Won't Let Me Install
Trying to use VirtualBox so I can get some of my other work done in Tango Studio. So I create a virtual drive and go to load the operating system and before anything get an error about this: Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908) Please install the virtualbox-ose-dkms package and execute 'modprobe v...

Re: Midi Mapping in Hydrogen
For now I am happy just being able to have most of the keys where I want them. But I do want to record to hydrogen my midi strokes, so that they make a pattern that I can call up. I guess I need to go into the Options Midi section and then record from there? Because when I press the record button no...

Re: Midi Mapping in Hydrogen
Pablo, :D Thanks!!! By adjusting the Octave down I was able to get to where the keys are populated better. Now I will explore mapping things to get them close. Like the crash sound is up on the drum pad or too far away down the keyboard. I should be able to use what you said above to map that. Quest...

Re: Midi Mapping in Hydrogen
How do I know what is what? I type a key and it says a number on and then says off real quick. What are first steps to set up a map. And then do I just open Hydrogen and go to Midi options and import map? The LPK doesn't seem to have most of the drum sounds when I am in Hydrogen and tends to have th...

Re: Midi Mapping in Hydrogen
Does anybody know how to rectify this question above? I am new to midi. I have read the guide a little for lpk25. When I bring up the software it only appears to show half. Does anyone have that problem? Can I do the mapping in Hydrogen on the MIdi tab? That doesn't seem like you can map your keys t...

Tuning Your Tracks for Optimum recording in Ardour
Okay, so I started out using the level meter under the assumption that I need to get as close to 1 on the meter without going over(clipping) to get the best sound. But I noticed at just before -3 even though the recording graph on your track shows no clipping, when I turn the speaker all the way up ...

Setting up Laptop
I am using my desktop with Tango Studio which I have referred to in the many other posts primarily for recording. I now want to use my laptop at work to primarily work on adding drums and effects. I mainly want to use Hydrogen and Ardour together like I can on my desktop at home. So I have loaded up...

Re: Midi Mapping in Hydrogen
So I downloaded the software for the lpk25 and I have run it. But, its very unintuitive on how to set it up. Its almost like you have to know all about standard midi before you do it. I am just trying to figure out where everything is and then map some standard drumming things to the keyboard. But i...

Re: Ardour Plugins for Vocals
I suggest looking at this Ardour manual especially the section on plugins: http://en.flossmanuals.net/ardour/ch040_using-plugins/ I have been over that section alot and its not helping. I don't get an error either, just no effect. Now this session was created a couple weeks back and now I am layeri...

Re: Ardour Plugins for Vocals
I don't hear the effect if I click on like track 1-4 that I created. But when I highlight Master and then choose an effect it works. The problem is I don't want all my tracks to have the effect.

Re: Ardour Plugins for Vocals
Okay, so I have selected some effects from the library in Ardour. But they haven't changed the sound and when I adjust their controls I still get no change in sound. They are activated is there something else I need to do?

Re: Ardour Plugins for Vocals
You've gotta come a lot more specific than that. What distro are you using, for starters? Most people on here use a studio based distro that already comes chock full of plugin goodies like compression, etc. Tango Studio and yes it does contain plugins in other apps, but how do you pull them into Ar...

Ardour Plugins for Vocals
I am looking to record vocals and see that I need to download plugins either LADSPA or LV2 and then open them in Ardour. Where do I get these plugins. And any suggestions for effects, like compression, EQ, Reverb and such would be appreciated. Thanks!

When I stretch it just repeats, I want to sustain it through more than 1 beat. Is there something I'm missing? Where can I download those kits? Looking for a good jazz like Dave Matthews drummer kit.
