Re: First track gets recorded into the second one

In this case, I assume you setup the samsung mic for capture and the onboard for playback in qjackctl. Or else, how do you setup jack? I don't know if this is weird, but my mic only appears in Jack connections as system/capture1 (for the track recorded through the mic), and system/capture2 (for the...

Re: First track gets recorded into the second one

Thank you so much for your answers guys. In order of testing complexity: @Luster: You may also mute tracks by hand right before you unpause to record Unfortunately, that's not an option in my case, because I want to recording new tracks while I listen to the previously recorded... I do my music like...

First track gets recorded into the second one

Hi, I've dedicated a lot of hours of research to this and I couldn't figure it out, so hopefully some of you will remember you were a newbie once and give me a hand. Here's the thing: I record one track, and everything goes fine. but when I try to record the next track, my computer doesn't just play...

Re: First in a series of LMMS and ZynAddSubFX videotutorials

Funny coincidence, I was looking for a better way to do my bass lines, and precisely today I opened LMMS for the first time. :) In that vein, it would be great a tutorial about how to use samplings in LMMS, and maybe a few tips about how to humanize a sampled bass line. I am more into rock than drum...

Re: looking for a ubuntu substitute

I use Puppy Studio http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/Operating-Systems/Linux-Distributions/Puppy-Studio-58784.shtml because it's very convenient: being a flavor of a 'minimalist' distro (Puppy Linux), it works fully in RAM, which, added to the RT kernel, makes it very fast in my 2 Ghz laptop. Th...

Sebadoh publishes 'Secret EP' in Bandcamp

I read someone here saying that Sebadoh was one of their favorite bands (one of mines, too). In case someone is not aware, they have just published new stuff, for the first time in 14 years, and done it via Bandcamp: http://sebadoh.bandcamp.com/ Funny how categories start to blend: seeing their EP i...

Re: Tunestorms Forum

+1. I think consolidating a flow of Tunestorms would create a nice wealth of new songs, increase the feeling of community, and maybe would make Linux more noticed in other circles, and get more people interested in what Linux is about. A forum thread seems a neat way to organize the flow imho.

Re: Tunestorm: composition with a haiku, deadline January 15

@SSJ71, Thank you for your offering to make a podcast out of this stuff, it will be fun! :) These things do take time of course, so maybe we can extend the deadline this time. Cool with me. More submissions. What would be a good new deadline? At random I'd say one more month, i.e. February 15th? It ...

Hey SSJ71, I like a lot the way you've figured things out. Re: name. +1 for keeping Tunestorm. I love knowing that we have Pipeman's blessings, and the origin with Unix Hag, mentioned in the podcast but which I had forgotten, is an additional bonus. Re: Soundcloud. Thank you also for making clear th...
