Re: Trouble getting Reaper working

Hey Dan, Tried registering 32-bit WINE, got the same result, ending in "The window "Cadence" is not responding. It belongs to the application cadence.py (Process ID = 1798, hostname = localhost)." Restarted, got several minutes of URB status -32 before it would shut down. I've ne...

Re: Trouble getting Reaper working

Assuming nothing useful there... have you tried using a massive buffer size? How does that affect it? Well I couldn't fix it, but the info is still useful for troubleshooting, much obliged. I copied your setting exactly, but got the same result: 2 seconds of static, x-runs coming in about 12 at a t...

Trouble getting Reaper working

New install of KXStudio 12.04.1 64-bit via DVD-RW. - Updated with install - Restarted, added self to audio group, restarted again, ran welcome screen, force reset of all settings, logged out & in. Ran command "wine64 regsvr32 wineasio.dll" to register WINEAsio. - Set up JACK via Cadenc...

Re: Step by Step KXStudio with Linux Mint!

Hey i2, Great tutorial, I was installing the iso but just skipped toward the end and your instructions cleared up some important steps. Just wanted to add, anyone who does want to use 64-bit with non-free software such as Reaper will have to use the command: wine64 regsvr32 wineasio.dll (I'm no expe...

Re: KX mini manual

Happy to help! I think my set-up is mostly default though. When/where/what is the best way to do this? Well, what we have here is guerrilla-documentation; Dan came up with a plan, started writing writing/arguing with Wolftune  , others had some observations, and here we are! Actually working r...

Re: KX mini manual

I'm using KXStudio because I specifically wanted to use REAPER and Renoise on a self-built computer without using Windows. The performance is superb Careful, I think you just volunteered to write some documentation ; ) Seriously though, there are some peculiarities re. running Reaper in KXStudio, i...

Hey,

I'm too green to be of much help, but if you put some details in your signature it'll speed things up as far as getting answers. Are you using an outboard audio device?

Re: KX mini manual

Hi guys, Looking at this project from the relative-newb POV, I'm starting to see a problem in terms of scope; if this is indeed meant to be a 1 or 2 page manual, the installation chapter seems at least partly redundant. Mostly it's a tutorial on general Linux install procedures . . . better-executed...

Re: KX mini manual

Hey Dan,
Nice job, this is looking really good. Clear, concise, and correctly-spelled documentation is too rare in the Linux world (and elsewhere!) Makes a great first impression for the whole KXStudio project, I hope you'll keep writing after the mini-manual's done.

Hey Falk, nice to hear some music, it sounds good. Care to elaborate? What did you use to make it?

Re: Is it just me? Errors in KX iso

Thanks Luster, Interesting that we both got exactly 2 file errors, I wonder how many people use the disk-checker tool (it does take a while and there are rarely issues with installs.) I'm still pretty new to audio in Linux, always go back to the Windows partition, so when unexpected things happen it...

This. I'm not good for much else, but should change my name to "CanaryInaCoalMine:" The whole idea of PPAs is alien and scary for newbs.

Re: Is it just me? Errors in KX iso

Hm. Doesn't surprise me, if the download itself were corrupted there'd be plenty of feedback by now.

Edit: Holy crap, how old is your laptop?
