Re: KXStudio Setup
Thanks everyone. Slowpick, I'll take your advice and go for a walk next time Linux gets on my nerves. Falk, if you're out there, congrats. Quite the ambitious program, I did a double-take reading that you couldn't upload 'cause you didn't have internet. Holy crap. I've got nothing to offer a ...

Re: KXStudio Setup
Hi, Yeah, a quick Google of "virtual memory exhausted" told me to add myself to the audio group . . . didn't have to do that with ReMix. That got reaper going. Then I had trouble getting low-latency (my Steinberg soundcard, of course, doesn't work in linux) and . . . long story short, righ...

Re: KXStudio Setup
Hi i, Not to sound ungracious, but that doesn't tell me anything . . . it's nice to have the command-lines in one tidy place, but since KX is already installed, I don't really need them. My problem is figuring out WINE: why does it install perfectly well on my friend's laptop, but not through KXStud...

KXStudio Setup
Hello, First, I'm dying to know if anyone's got a working torrent for the KXStudio Live DVD. There's a thread going in Ubuntu Forums but nobody can find it . . . plenty of torrents but no trackers. Trouble is, this is pretty taxing on a newbie, and every problem gets me thinking "was there a pr...

Greetings from a Windows Refugee.
Hello Linux, I'm here courtesy of a fatal drunk-partitioning accident that killed Windows for good. I'm a guitar teacher in Canada, and mostly want to do solid pre-production for my band. Used to dabble in Ubuntu and it just gets better all the time, looks like I'm here for good.
