Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
Here's the initial support for microtonal_keyboards for the adventurous: 1. Install Git , for example: sudo apt-get install git (or however your distro does it) 2. Run these commands: git clone git://git.code.sf.net/p/libmodsynth/git libmodsynth-git cd libmodsynth-git git checkout --track origin/mic...

Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
voice-stealing? What's that? It's where I climb in your window at night and steal your voice, it's for a vocalist synthesizer plugin I'm working on. The right to do so is established in my EULA, you agreed to it whenever you installed LMS Suite. j/k, of course, voice stealing is how synth...

Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
I think I might be able to get you sorted out by perhaps tomorrow night... I checked out the ALSA stuff, it would appear that I only need to do the following: 1. Segregate notes and pitchbend messages by the channel they were received on 2. Only apply pitchbend to notes received on the same channel ...

Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
Uh, oh... I think we're losing consensus here  I've been thinking about how best to do this, and I might just have a winning gameplan, but I have a few more questions: 1. Is this an industry standard for microtonal stuff to work this way, or is it specific to your keyboard? Obviously I woul...

Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
Jeff, your work looks awesome and I'm looking forward to trying it out, especially the sampler eventually. Thanks :) I have one odd request for any instruments (sample or synth or whatever) that you make. Could you please make them compatible with microtonal instruments and patch setups? It's simpl...

Re: For those supporting OpenOctave...
I base this idea off of the Bible. I would hardly call it baseless. I am promised through the word of God that I will suffer persecution. OK, I couldn't sit out for this one... Really? Seriously? Assuming that the your religion is correct, and not somebody else's like the Hindus, Mormons, Muslims, ...

Re: For those supporting OpenOctave...
You make my point for me. Brilliant response. I have no idea what you intend to do with "the greatest DAW of all time" when/if it ever actually acheives such grandeur(real or imaginary), but if you're coding skills aren't 1000x greater than your social skills, then all your doing is makin...

Re: For those supporting OpenOctave...
Chris, your threat to Linux in general is completely unwarranted and unprofessional. That said, it is emotionally opaque. I could imagine you saying it out of pure understandable frustration, just a funny wording in which you are trying to express exasperation. I could also imagine it in an angry, ...

GMaq,
Unless I misunderstood, I though he was talking about my generic installer for people on other distros(which admittedly could use a little help), not the Debuntu installer; I had no intention of getting rid of my .deb packages.
Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong

Re: For those supporting OpenOctave...
We are discussing not releasing to Linux anymore. I would point out that you are the main cause of that. Well you and others like you. The shoot first ask questions later crowd. If that doesn't alienate your entire Linux user base, I don't know what will. I certainly won't bother to evaluate OO eve...

Re: Hydrogen is moving to github
Agreed. I finally gave Hydrogen a serious try for the first time just a moment ago, it's a great piece of software. I'll be sure to start using it in my music.slowpick wrote:Hydrogen is one of the best audio softwares on any computer.
Thanks for keeping the project alive and improving!

Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
that's what I do already with seq24. the differences are that the commercial apps put each sample as an instrument ie: a piano note is now spread out across a keyboard map. I other words those apps are all in one kinda like LMMS... That is the default behaviour of Euphoria, to stretch a sample acro...

Re: Manage your gigs through your phone
but as they're also targeting Android and promising to make sources available I think it's fair game. I disagree. Nobody should be taking them at their word that sources will eventually be made available, there's nothing stopping them from registering for Sourceforge, GitHub or GoogleCode and makin...

Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
guys, what about an app like this?: http://btvsolo.com/ or http://dubturbo.com/ Yeah, my main music is metal or rock period, but I also make hip hop beats for an artist I'm managing. I have to use those 2 apps for Windows/Mac and cheat on Linux... Is it possible to create a beat maker for Linux? LM...

Re: Incremental Goodness: LMS Suite 12.04, DSSI plugins for
hey jeffh, I read some other posts where you were having trouble getting working binaries for everyone. I use a chroot 10.04 ubuntu to build my DISTRHO plugins, and soon I'll have to rebuild everything, so I can build generic plugin binaries for you if you want. Hi FalkTX, that sounds great, thanks...
