Re: How can I use LMMS plugins in Ardour?
I have Ardour 3.3.1 running in Ubuntu Studio Release 12.04 (precise) 64-bit. Is it possible to somehow record my guitar using some of the special effects found in Linux Multimedia Studio? :?: LMMS presets end with file extension *.xiz .xiz files are ZynAddSubFX instruments and you should be able to...

Re: How to install OpenOctave in Ubuntu Studio?
Thank you for that info falkTX ! :) One point that is worrisome to me also is it ok to install something that is for a different Linux flavor than my UbuStudio, eg, KXStudio, etc. ? Furthermore, is it possible that installing the wrong program could break my system, or does Linux in general give an ...

How to install OpenOctave in Ubuntu Studio?
I am running Ubu-Studio 13.04 64 bit low latency 3.8.0-26. I tried to download Open Octave Midi ("OOM") via launchpad site using the PPA method and got error messages (numerous "failed to fetch...or find....) The alternative download suggestions talked about downloading from "sou...

I am, though, still trying to figure out how to import and edit midi file type drum kits in Hydrogen.

Re: Looking for Latin drum and bass loops
I am having a problem to get Hydrogen to play midi files; also, when I sync Hyd and Ardour 3, my mixer strips for audio in and the master out shows signals working (at about -16 or -17 db) during record and playback, but no sound out of my speakers. I notice the waveforms on the tracks are almost s...

Re: Looking for Latin drum and bass loops
The Fishman Triple Play looks awesome!!!! I may very well save my bucks for that.
One sound I want from my guitar is a kind of breathy, pan flute sound.

Looking for Latin drum and bass loops
I'm running Ubuntu Studio 13.04 64 bit. I'm an intermediate level jazz guitarist. I can read music charts. I've been using Ubuntu distros about a year now. I'm learning how to use mostly Ardour 3, Hydrogen, and others for now on the back burner, namely Audacity, LMMS. I am using AudioBox USB (works ...

Re: How to adjust levels with AudioBox USB?
Yes Pablo, you clearly answered my questions, thanx. Now my next learning experience is working Hydrogen with Ardour. I intend to learn how to: 1) Setup a Latin drum pattern, specifically Bossa Nova style. 2) Run my guitar through some kinda Ardour addon to make it sound like a bass (I don't have a ...

Re: How to adjust levels with AudioBox USB?
Last night I got it running. hooray! I ended up in Jack with these settings which worked fine, no xruns: Realtime checked; frames/period 256; sample rate 48khz; periods/buffer 2; interface hw:USB (yes the hw: number changes, depending on my order of opening Jack and Ardour...I'm ok with that); all o...

Re: How to adjust levels with AudioBox USB?
I would also like to add that last night I was finally able to hear my wav track AND dub my guitar AND play back and hear the resulting wav and my guitar recording thru my headset! But alas, today after reloading the session again this time it did not work. I was elated last nite and began a lette t...
