I couldn't figure out if that video was satire or not. I have the same reaction to Metallica! ;)

Re: There's now a U-he linux forum at KVR

Thanks for sharing this here, I never would have known otherwise. I'm not much of a synth person but I need to check those out. Presswerk has become my all time fave plugin, and Twangstrom would really fill a void in the Linux plug-in world.

Re: I feel like giving up with audio as a whole

I'd suggest to forget about Jack, ladish and all of that stuff. Jack is a great tool but can be a bit fiddly to setup. Simply use a recent version of Ardour in ALSA mode. Plugin your Keyboard, create a midi track with your favourite softsynth and set the input to your midi device. It's really easy ...

This is my #1 favorite EQ plugin. I would encourage anyone who is curious to give it a try.

Looking forward to putting the update to work!

Re: AV Linux 2018 User Manual Draft - Input requested!

Hi, Over the past weekend a strange mood overcame me and I willfully spent the whole weekend on User Manual documentation for AV Linux 2018!  Looking good! This is so much more than an AV Linux manual. Plenty of nuggets about Xfce and Carla and notes on Debian in general (and many other ...

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

how about Mixbus beiing worth it the investment comparing to Ardour? (I did read the thread on Gearlutz, wanted to hear some opinion from Ardour users) Do you like Ardour? If you like Ardour, write down how much it would be worth to you to add 1) excellent built-in compressors built into every chan...

I laughed, I cried, and got caught in between. Enjoyed the less polished tracks as much as the big funky productions. Top notch lyrics as well, even the silly ones. Congrats on getting it done!

Also consider jumping into the rabbit hole of impulse responses if you haven't already. Lots to explore.

Beautiful melody. I like the way you introduce new details as you go. Well done!

Re: Hey all and Thanx for adding me to the board!

Welcome. Yeah, stop thinking about drivers when you're on Linux! I've had a few Focusrite Scarlets including the 2i2 and they are typically plug and play. You'll have a little learning curve, but once you get going you'll be fine. This is a good overview of what you need to know. Tip: when scouring ...

Re: Harrison Mixbus offers

I love Mixbus, but wish they would stop the erratic sales. It's ridiculous. Just price things at the sale price if you are going to do them every 10 minutes, because that is what they are worth. Who would pay full price when you know there will be another sale tomorrow? Regardless, their plugins are...

Re: another song protytpe

I like it. It's repetitive, but it's hypnotic (in a good way)! It's hard to imagine what else could be done with it. It feels like it could be a coda for another song.

Re: quickest way to loop a MIDI drum file?

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but it seems like you could just drag this onto a midi track in Ardour (or Qtractor), and loop it. Add one of the AVL drumkit plugins to the track to generate the drum sounds. Pick any tempo.

Congrats and thanks for the fix! Looking forward to putting Lushlife back to work, and the bent delay sounds like a lot of fun.
